I will say this year I did not see ANY sign of any homer calls there for the first time ever

Good to know.

Im curious about the student section and the non-football actions on the field.

Was alive and well at baseball and basketball games last season

Standings can’t be accurate.
For each game played, there is a win and a loss.  Thus, in district standings, the number of wins should equal the number of losses.
You have 16 wins and 19 losses.

The only thing I remember is LB #11 getting two personal fouls on consecutive plays. WR #1 was their best player.

Local paper reported our 8th grade team was undefeated.  Not sure about freshmen

7-5A

Texas High is the #1 seed no matter what.  Even if they lose to Nac because they beat Marshall head to head.

Marshall is in the cat-bird seat for the #2 seed.  Obviously a win over WH gives it to them outright.  If WH beats Marshall and Hallsville beats MP....the Wildcats get the #2 seed.  But if MP beats Hallsville...then WH would have to beat Marshall by 17 to get the #2 seed.

Whitehouse is all over the map.  Beat Marshall and Hallsville win over MP gives them the #2 seed.  But if MP beats Hallsville....WH would need to beat Marshall by 17 to get the #2 seed.  A WH loss makes things get murky.  A loss drops them to (3-3).  If MP beats Hallsville... the Tigers improve to (4-2) and take the #3 spot and WH takes #4 and gets the tie over Hallsville due to head to head.  But if WH loses to Marshall to go (3-3) and Hallsville beats MP..... all three are (3-3).  WH is beat Hallsville by 17 but lost to MP by 13.  It could all come down to how much Hallsville beat MP to determine who gets in and who is out.  I'll have to sit down and do some trig to figure out all the possibilities.

Mount Pleasant-  The Tigers could get the #3 seed with a WH loss to Marshall and an MP win over Hallsville.  But as stated.... a loss to Hallsville with a WH loss creates a three way tie. MP's win over WH helps them...but it could come down to how much MP losses to Hallsville.  Someone is getting left out.

Hallsville- The Bobcats are alive.  Barely.  If they beat MP....and WH beats Marshall....the Bobcats are in at #4 and MP is out.  But if WH loses to Marshall and Hallsville beats MP..... all three are (3-3) and point differentials will come into play.  Hallsville will need to beat MP by a certain number of points thanks to MPs win over WH and their win over MP.  Again....I'll need to do some math to see what the point differentials are.

Nacogdoches and Jacksonville have been eliminated from the playoff chase.

Bobcat stadium will be electric

The district 8 playoff scenarios are much simpler. And i am going to just go ahead and safely assume PNG will beat Dayton and Huntsville will beat Splendora.

If Nederland beats Montgomery the district order will be #1 Nederland, #2 PNG, #3 Huntsville, #4 Montgomery.

If Montgomery beats Nederland the district will finish #1 PNG, #2 Huntsville, #3 Montgomery, #4 Nederland.

This is a HUGE game for Nederland not only is it for the district championship but a win has them hosting either WH, MP or Hallsville whereas a loss sends them up to Texarkana.

The Texarkana Bowl will be played Friday night in Montgomery.  Loser wins a 5 hour road trip.  Hoping for Nederland to win.  That would give PNG a 2nd round date with SOC.  And also gives us a really fun Marshall-Huntsville 1st rounder.

I think you are right about PNG & Huntsville. I believe they will both win.

Montgomery can definitely beat Nederland. The Nederland win over PNG didn't convince me that they were a better team than the Indians and I think Montgomery is better than their record. It should be a really good game.

All that being said, whoever gets the 2nd seed isn't beating SOC in the 2nd round. They might not even get past the first round. Right now it looks like it's PNG but they are not as good as they have been the last 2 years.
