I think y’all probably beat them pretty handily. Could be an 0-3 start for the Indians. I was a little surprised they didn’t beat Trinity. I have a feeling it’s going to get ugly quick especially if our boys come out like they did against Timpson.

No offense but wasn’t sure alto was any good until what you did last week. But as long as we don’t over look them we should be fine. But you never now with a rivalry game.

That’s kind of what I was thinking too! That and they were so close to beating Timpson that they’ll probably be looking to work out a little frustration. We are improved and we’ll see in the next few weeks just how much. We have made big gains, especially with the defense. Rivalry game or not I just think y’all will be too much for them this year. StingEmALTO
Top 3 teams had OT games. Lovelady almost beats defending 2A State Champ Timpson (and currently #4 in 2A D1) AT HOME and doesn’t move. SMH. AirRaidForDays
Alto over HD (Alto continues to roll) Union Grove over Cushing (Don't know much about either team) Grapeland over Frankston (What a win last week for the Sandies. I didn't see that one coming. Congrats Sandie fans) Lovelady over Groveton (This used to be a dog fight!! But Lovelady wins by as much as they want) Mount E over Maud (Wont be much of a game here) Overton over Simms Bowie (Overton will continue to grow) Joaquin over Tenaha (Joaquin gets revenge for their loss last year) Side note: I wonder when the last time Tenaha start 0-3 was??

I agree with all your picks. Biggest toss-up for me is UG/Cushing. Best game: Grapeland/Frankston Could be a game: Joaquin/Tenaha....if Tenaha can fix their defensive woes. I looked it up: Tenaha went 0-5 in 2015 but finished 8-6, going all the way to the 4th round and losing to Muenster.
PeanutKing74
@StingEmALTO So long as this group of Sandies stays healthy they can compete with near anyone. Easily the best team since BJ Lamb and Fraunberger were in school. I expect the Lovelady game to be a war. Really all of the district games look to have the potential to be wild. 1

I knew y’all had some kids coming. Good to see Grapeland competing….and winning. Friday’s game was pretty monumental.

Our game is going to be a good one in nov. Grapeland -Lovelady is always a war. Hopefully everyone stays healthy
StingEmALTO
Alto 7th grade is playing Elkhart right now in our first scrimmage. We have 23 SEVENTH GRADERS!! 23. 2-3. That is one of the larger numbers we have had in some time. Results so far: Alto offense 2 TDs out of 4 drives and 1 INT. Elkhart offense has taken the field now. StingEmALTO
I feel like I have stepped back in time here in Elkhart. I should have worn some parachute pants. Getting 80s vibes…not much has changed at Elk Stadium. Very nostalgic. We had a few battles over the years on this field…many of them with playoffs on the line. I can remember one year when Alto, Groveton, Elkhart, and Grapeland were all in the Top 10. Only 2 went to the playoffs in those days and it was Alto and Groveton who (surprisingly) stayed home. Grapeland ended up in the semi finals that year I believe. Anyway, if you want to feel young again, come over and sit in the stands at Elkhart! Lots of folks turned out! Everyone likes to see kids hit the field for the first time in their school colors. Edited September 10 by StingEmALTO
StingEmALTO
Elkhart 7th grade does not have a first down yet in their first 2 possessions.
StingEmALTO
Elkhart 7th had one first down I believe in their series. Many QB sacks and very little positive yardage. I think this group of ours is gonna be special. Elkhart has A TON of kids though. I counted upward of 20 on the sideline.
