Honestly CH is not a lock I could honestly see them getting beat by PT. I’m not saying it will happen but what CH like to do fits right into PT strength and that’s stopping the run should be a good game. I hope all teams remain healthy.

Interesting never thought about that but would be surprising if they didn’t finish strong. I could definitely see PT finishing behind Kilgore and maybe Lindale .

Really starting to get invested in Pine Tree. I'm a Lobo through and through but my wife is a Pirate alum and I pay school taxes to PT so I might as well have interest. They have looked pretty explosive on offense and defense is very good as long as they don't get worn down. This district will be pretty tough this season

Could see them as high as second and low as fifth.

I can’t see them 5th. But agree with as high as 2nd. I see 2-4. They’re going to the playoffs. Barring injuries.

Depends if injuries happen and most likely Henderson has a successful season. Honestly only two are sure bets Kilgore and Mabank lol!

In my opinion the only game that will decide the district championship is pine tree vs Kilgore I think of chapel hill as Dallas Carter but with better players there not very fundamental on the field besides at qb and rb it’s gonna be a close game but gilmer only lost because Tennison sold in the slot fade route he didn’t sell the block and slip

Man, you are very confident in the PT Pirates. I think they're good, but remember...this district is tough.

She's the Chapel Hill Dawgs23 of Pine Tree. In his mind, it's state title time.

lol at least Chapel been there has PT ever played December football even won a playoff game? I am being serious. Maybe the 1980s? @LoboFan07 you know?

They have played December football 4 times from what I can see.

1938 Bi-District, when playoffs started in December.
1950 they beat Daingerfield in Bi-District and lost the next round.
1963 Regional
1976 Quarterfinals

Daingerfield game in 1950 was either on November 30, December 1st or December 2nd. So that is the only game they potentially could have won in December. It was likely on 12/01 by pure luck, and they won by one point.

Edit: Completely forgot about 2020. They beat A&M that year by 6 in bi-district. That game was in like mid December due to the late start to the season.

So should be holding a 2-5 December playoff record.

This is crazy, the last PT playoff win was in 2020 (covid schedule year) btw.

I'm a big PT supporter, and know a majority of the 8th - 11th grade boys, and kept up with them since the Kerry Lane era started.

This PT team is good, they are alot better than 5-10 years ago, but to just shrug off a CH team and think District is coming down to Kilgore or PT 😵‍💫. That's the kind of mind set these young men need to stay away from...they've won two non district games. Is it impressive? Yes. Am i proud of them? Without a doubt. BUT they need to stay hungry and keep playing with a chip on their shoulder. They've seen many games that they were up big, and just to not finish because one bad play would turn into another...and another...and another, then pour mental toughness let their opponents back in the game and ultimately they would lose close games. ALMOST HAPPENED LAST WEEK against Van.

Confidence is good to have, but CH is a state contender and should be treated as such, overlooking them is a bad mindset to have.

District Championship is definitely the goal, no doubt. But in this district, it doesn't mean squat after week 11. In this district, the goal is to be the last team standing in 4A-D1.

District starts this week, and should two of the best games in the state:

Kilgore @ Pine Tree - Game of the week

Lindale @ Chapel Hill - Game of the week and someone please set the timer for the lights so they stay on

Palestine @ Henderson - Henderson has spoken loud with their play, now it counts

Mabank will go into next Saturday with sole possession of fourth place.

Theses my picks Kilgore vs Pine Tree would be a toss up but I'm picking The Red Dogs of Kilgore to pull thru. Lindale vs Chapel Hill, toss up game also to me if Chills QB dont play Lindale could win it but if Chill QB plays Chill wins it. Palestine vs Henderson, Henderson wins this game, and Mabank wins the off day.

Thoughts.

Henderson finally in the mix

Palestine is in trouble unless they pull off some major upsets!

Lindale didn’t take advantage of Chill being down and Chill really helped themselves.

Mabank didn’t lose!

Kilgore is for real! Yikes Henderson @ Kilgore next week!
