District 9-4A Division One

Recommended Posts

If three is the magic number of district games to win to make the post season:

Henderson has their 3 wins and has PT, CH, and Lindale remaining. They should be in.

Kilgore has 2 wins and plays Mabank the last game of the season. Barring something crazy, they'd be in.

Chapel Hill has 2 wins and plays Mabank next week. Same as Kilgore getting in.

Pine Tree has 1 win (Mabank) and plays Palestine the last game of the regular season but needs another win before that to be in a position for post-season play.

Lindale is has 1 win (Palestine) and plays Mabank in two weeks. They need another win against one of the other teams.

Pine Tree hosts Lindale November 1.

District  ( I believe this is correct standings) Correct me if I am wrong!

Henderson 6-1 ; 3-0

Kilgore 6-1 ; 2-1

Pine Tree 5-1 ; 1-1

Lindale 3-3 ; 1-1

Chapel Hill 5-1; 2-1

Mabank 1-6; 0-3

Palestine 0-7; 0-3

Only 9 district games have been played............You have 9 wins........But you have 10 losses.

I'm curious about who the other Kilgore fans think has the edge between Henderson and Pine Tree.

I say Lions by a smidge.

What kinda offense do they run?  Remember it at Pine Tree !

That seems accurate depending if Hendo takes care of Pine Tree next week, I believe Pine Tree is the tougher team out of Lindale and Chill, that MEANS!! Henderson cannot afford to play around with Pine Tree or even the last three like they did with Mabank!! Has to play the rest like Henderson played in the Kilgore game, we need that version of Henderson no matter what.

I agree but it is not to unusual to play flat or uninspired football after an emotional hard game against Kilgore. We played flat and it showed! Mabank runs a wing T type offense in which they grind up and run the ball virtually all game. This is reason why Henderson had only seven  possessions and 14 points! This played to their strengths and they almost had a win!

Technically speaking Henderson could miss the postseason despite the 3-0 ! They have @ Pine Tree vs Chapel Hill, and @ Lindale left! In order to do that they have to lose all three and someone else may have to pull an upset! Again not realistic but technically very possible. Henderson must play better because imo are capable of winning or losing to all three of those teams! So we are guaranteed to have one “ good “ 5th place missing the postseason! If everyone could post their remaining schedule  then update the standings would be great if you don’t mind.

I start

Henderson

@ Pine Tree ( Next Fri)

Open

Vs Chapel Hill ( Sr night)

@ Lindale

Also anyone feel free to post the other schools standings for post season games! Please update the standings so we all know. Any subvarsity  standings would be great as well!

In my honest opinion if PT is healthy I see them winning out. They match up with every team they have left very well. You’re not gonna be able to just line up and run against them and no team left has an overwhelming passing attack.

I think Pine Tree and Chapel Hill should be favored over Henderson.  I can see the Henderson/ Lindale game being a toss up. But so far this district has been wild and absolutely anything can happen. First time in a while I think every team will have a district loss.

Maybe so but Henderson has obviously proven they aren’t crowning homecoming queens anymore! PT has the defense and Chill like or not has some serious issues ! I don’t like comparing games myself because can give you a false impression!

This is what I am afraid of! Henderson likes to run but can pass if needed. It was off last night! Last night was the 1st time Henderson was held in check offensively, but that was namely because of their wing t offense and playing flat!

Barring the unthinkable, Kilgore should be in the playoffs since they have two wins and haven't played Palestine or Mabank yet.

To mess up the rest of the potential field:

PT beats Henderson this Friday.

I take that back. If Mabank and Palestine go winless in district play, there is a possibility of a 5-way tie at 4-2, if I did my math correctly.

Things would be set in motion if Lindale beats Kilgore and Pine Tree beats Henderson next Friday.

If Hendo loses out and Lindale loses to only Kikgore and PT then Lindale goes as the 4 as they will own the tie-break with Hendo.

Rankings according to Cal/Maxpreps:

 2 - Kilgore

 5 - Pine Tree

 8 - Chapel Hill

11 - Henderson

12 - Lindale

48 - Palestine

67 - Mabank

That ranking could be different by the time District is done.

Dang everyone counting us out against Pine Tree!

Just like everyone was overthinking our Kilgore victory every one over thinking our mabank one worse!

That's how it was in the Kilgore game!! To be honest Kilgore Defense is more stronger than Pine Trees defense, Pine Tree does like to air it alot, Hendersons Defense going be tested for sure on the Safetys, if Hendo can slow down or contain the air attacks from Pine Tree than I see Hendo winning, got to show them again that we not no DOOR MATS!!! we not going just lay down for no one!!

I agree I hope that isn’t a “ playoff “ game in Week 10! Honestly if we are a 3 game losing streak we shouldn’t go to the playoffs anyways!

I am sure Clay Baker and the staff will have a game plan for this one also I'm not counting Hendo out, theses kids played so hard to this point on having that winning season so they not going give up now.

They said they same crap against Kilgore and I know Pine Tree Defense is not Kilgores Defense, the thing with Pine Tree Offense I do see them airing it out with few good receivers but non is at the skill level as that number 12 from LE Henderson had faced, not saying that Pine Tree receivers not good they are but not on the same level they not.Henderson D. Would have to be on point even the Safety,  Henderson getting better each week in that area, I see Henderson going have plenty of interceptions in this game and they need them.
