Getting towards the end of the school year...how is everyone feeling about the upcoming season? Offseason seem to be going well? Anything noteworthy?

Excited as usual. Interesting to see how things shake up this year!! Jon Denman (ATH), S’Vioarean Martin (CB), Baylynn Williams (OT) have picked up some MAJOR Division one offers this spring! Excited to see those guys get back on the field..

I’m also excited to see the new faces for everyone in our district! Had some BIG senior classes that contributed a TON!

PAL will be young up front on the OL and at WR but that freshman/upcomimg SOPH class has some DUDES! Lost 22 or 23 seniors I believe!

OVR, going into a new season with a new head coach, that’s gonna open it up will be good to us! Got ATHLETES everywhere!

Callahan is boasting about getting CH’s OC with 9000+ yds of offense in the last two years. IMO the only reason ch isn’t holding a couple of state trophies from the last 3 years is the offensive play calling. Let’s be honest Stewart/Brisbon earned the 9k yards along with some great oline work. Any coach can call Ricky/brisbon run right or left and rack up the yards as in recent years. Great defenses and def coordinators straight shut it down going into the semis and finals. As in recent years. Of course it falls on Rio ultimately and he hasn’t changed it.

Goibg into next season we have to replace some really good olinemen and integrate a new OC. Me personally would like to see the young Qb get work and get the ball in brisbons hands in open space or out of the backfield with Ricky. If we run the same offensive plan as the last 3 years we will see the same results. Make a deep run and shut down late. If we see a coordinator utilize the talent and spread the field watch out because i believe we could be holding a trophy.

All up in the air right now and in Rios hands. Will he adjust or play the same ole playbook. We will see. Ready to support the kids regardless.

I didn't realize Irvin moved on. Hopefully the new OC can incorporate the passing game with more consistency. Like you said.....it's been our Achilles heel the last couple of years. I liked the 2 running back look we implemented in the playoffs last year. Super excited about seeing the new wrinkles in our offensive scheme.

I agree with you...but was Irvin actually calling the plays? Riordan is an offensive guy. Are we sure he isn't the one calling the offense?

Regardless…Rio is supposed to be an offensive guru so whoever is calling the plays is under the leadership of Rio. He’s allowing the vanilla offense

He is a baller...there is no doubt. Some quality RB's in this district.

Denman - Palestine

Stewart - Chapel Hill

Forget his name...the 2027 kid at Kilgore

Rayshaun Williams (freshman last year)...but also, have Isaiah Watters (sophomore last year) coming back

Definitely a running back and WR heavy this year. Which is a great problem to have.

Yes I remember seeing Watters...but Williams has a chance to be special.

Also...lets not forget about Jabo Cook at Chapel Hill. He is very good as well.

True story.....he gets overshadowed because of Stewart. He's a very solid RB in his own right. Should be a solid 1-2 punch for CH next season

Palestine doing any 7v7 tournaments this year? How did our district look at the CH qualifier today?

Want to say Sabine and another school qualified for the state tournament.

I just go from the Before to After.

Been a long four years . Henderson probably haven’t seen these hard times since 2004-2009. Lions really need to get competitive in very competitive districts. You have to beat the bad teams , definitely the comparable teams, plus an upset over them would help.

Don't think it was a good day for our district.

I was not there, but I heard Lindale did not look great...

Chapel Hill didn't win their pool and they tried to set themselves up for the easy route to qualify (They played Crockett/Emory Rains/Bullard)

Kilgore is already qualified but I'm not sure how they looked.

I'm not sure how Kilgore looked but based on what I read they went 2-1...beat Whiteoak (27-6), Sabine (32-20), and lost to Gladewater (21-19)...scores may not be exact but somewhere in that ballpark from what I remember reading...Kilgore couldn't advance past pool play anyway so 🤷‍♂️

No Palestine not doing 7v7 they have to get that new spread offense down first

Kilgore played without #1 QB Brooks, no Jayden Sanders, and no Keyleon Graves.
