I have the same exact thoughts. O line will be the key to Kilgore. Their Run block was good. The pass blocking could improve. But overall this first scrimmage looked alot better than the first scrimmage last year lol.

who did kilgore scrimmage?

Riordan has always called it from what I understand. The OC proposed changes for the State game-especially to face the talent of the Anna Linebacker, and it was turned down.

Real question is the last couple years, if the struggle has been the Passing Game, that would be Rio who coaches the QB and his brother the other Riordan who has been coaching receivers.
The OC coached the line which was pretty dominant.
It will be interesting to see what happens this year.

That is really interesting...

Who does Kilgore and Lindale scrimmage this week?

Lindale scrimmaged Sulphur Springs. SS won in a simulated game 27-7. Lindale scored their only TD on a 70 pass on the last play of the game against the 3rd string.
Lindale scrimmages Athens next I believe.

What's up with all these Thursday scrimmages?

I think it's mostly because coaches want their players to get one more day of rest after camp comes to an end. Many staffs treat it like fall camp all the way through the 2nd scrimmage (meaning longer and more physical practice)

I assume most people change the way practice is structured starting in Week 0 and then continue to adjust as the season goes on.

My 2 cents in early March:

1. Kilgore - until proven otherwise in my opinion...the defense was incredible last year and they're all back it seems

2. Lindale/Chapel Hill - Lindale and CH both replace a lot. CH has the dudes in the backfield, but they lost the monster offensive linemen...Lindale loses Thurman and Poe...hope the Eagles have something to replace them in the pipeline.

3. Lindale/Chapel Hill - Loser of this game

4. Pine Tree - Good athletes and coming down from 5A. I'd be shocked if they don't get in.

5. Palestine - Reyes is a good coach. Interested to see if he can execute his system in Palestine. They haven't exactly thrown the ball a lot recently.

6. Henderson - Growing pains and recovery from the previous staff continues.

7. Mabank - Welcome back to 9-4A...unfortunately it's a bad draw for the Panthers.

Don't be surprised if Henderson becomes a little above your prediction, Henderson will be better approved this years and Henderson has a few move ins this year and they look pretty good so thru the season it be a better look.

Henderson lost their starting qb from last year who now plays in Kilgore. I believe he is playing defense

Henderson using there second stream from last years he's a Junior, he has a arm but needs work more on he's accuracy, Henderson has few move ins also, I believe it's one kid that's a D1 player thats a Senior that came from Arp now he plays for Henderson, not going say no names but he is fast and plays on both ends well, y'all we see alot of him tho.

Irrelevant . He should be far better in the position change. Henderson will contend for a playoff spot and is good enough to upset one of the big three if they have an off night!

This is such a competitive district.  Playoffs are a viable goal! Anything else is a reach unless they overachieve!

Ch looked rough against hallsville tonight. Hallsville played with passion.

No progression with the passing game from last year. Same story!

I have a buddy from Hallsville and he told me CH didn't look impressive.  Wasn't there but I'd like a couple opinions.

Penalties, dropped passes, bad snaps…ugly

Hopefully they clean it up soon

Where does Henderson play Gainesville at? I thought I saw where they were playing each other and that’s a good distance between them

This game will be played at Texas A&M Commerce.

There is quite a few new faces. I’m hoping Rio just wasn’t showing nothing at all. I will say that Ricky was lightning but didn’t play much. When Ricky and brisbon carried the ball there was big gains for sure. But I’m hoping they spread the offense. Brisbon threw the ball well. Couple of dropped passes for huge gains. Time will tell. D line looks to have great size.

How'd the defense look overall? I think our defensive line could be our strength this year. We gotta couple of DTs that are a load to block.
