Wild74
Some take aways from last night game, Abreu got his first hit after 4 games now batting .76 with Alvarez coming down to greet him at .100 Bregman working hard on a 10 year 300 million contract struck out 3 times and went 0-4. Tucker did show he can still hit after the sorry Ranger series from last year and Diaz showed he should have been the starter last your with Moldy warming the bench. I have a feeling Bregman and Alvarez will turn things around fairly quick, I don't have that feeling about Abreu.
Wild74
I have seen a lot of disgusting baseball from Houston but tonight's 2-1 loss is one of the most disgusting I have seen in a while. Lights out closer didn't close, Houston base runners getting picked off, no clutch hitting guys on 1 and 3rd nobody out and come up with nothing. Altuve getting picked off third base for goodness sakes. Abreu, Pressley and Hader all have blown leads now.

Wild74
Houston starting pitching has been very good, the relief pitching so far has not been up to task, good to see Alvarez break his slow start. Good series coming up in Texas

THSfanatic
I can't complain about Maldonado taking up a wasted roster spot this year so thus far my sights are set on Jon Singleton. I can't come up with a single reason why he made the roster.

Wild74
May I say, Abreu is the pits of a hitter, not that great of a 1st baseman, what ever he once had he has lost to age and time, 1 hit in the season so far and just left the bases loaded swinging at ball four. Batting average .83 I think letting Yuli go was a great mistake.
DAWG91
Ya'll think you can manage just one win vs the defending champs? Been getting that booty spanked.

Talk to us after you have been to 7 consecutive divisional finals. But the Rangers remind me of the 2016-17 Astros. They just look more talented than the league right now. We will see how long it lasts. Not going to argue they look to be the cream of the division Edited April 7 by THSfanatic

Sure we can we got Singleton playing first base today that should make a big difference in the game outcome , you just watch he will probably hit for the cycle
THSfanatic
Everybody was afraid of the middle pitching. But I don't think anybody expected it to be this bad. The hitting will eventually come around (not including Abreu in this prediction). Despite it being very early I don't have much hope for the SP or the middle relievers...........even the 3 closers have been shaky. You can't win without pitching. The $ spent on Abreu and Monterro is going to haunt us for years. But hey.......it ain't over and regardless you don't get rides like we have had more than once in a lifetime. THSfanatic
And i hope fans don't start riding Espada. He can't perform for the players. At least I can't really question his starters. He is pretty much stuck with his 1st baseman situation.

Espada is doing all he can do, it is way to early to give up on this team I remember one year they got off to a terrible start and then starting ripping the ball it is a time that is coming. Besides the homerun pitch to Alvarez, neither team could hit last night. Both teams will be fine this year and they'll both be in the hunt. I too was complaining about the ump last night and then recalled I finally gave up on arguing balls/strikes. Just does no good. They never listen to me. Heck Bochy didnt even leave the dugout and kick dirt on the ump. One game left in this series. The Rangers can still go out 3-1 and that's good with me.
