Through 25 games he leads the American League in hits (36), doubles (8) and batting average (.350) Overall he is slashing .350/.412/.602 with 8 doubles, 6 homers, 3 stolen bases and a 195 OPS+ #Relentless All true. But he has been absolutely terrible in hitting with runners in scoring position..........as has the whole team. It has been an absolutely embarrassing display of pitching, situational hitting, base-running, and a total lack of fire from anybody. I was terrified of the pitching. But I never saw a complete collapse coming.

Wild74
Bregman hits a three run homer to tie game in the third inning, first homer of the year...SMH then with two outs in the 8th inning runner on second pops out to first base, a pathetic little measly poop of a pop up, not a drive against the wall that the other team makes a great catch, not a hard hit ball, just a little diarrhea of the bat

Wild74
Bases loaded, one out and the mighty Bregman looking for the big free agent contract comes up to bat looking to be the big RBI man and meekly pops a little boo boo of a pitch up to the first baseman again dropping his average to the Maldonado level .204 of production. Except he is hitting second. We did score one run that inning on a pass ball. Of course he is a slow starter...a real real slow starter

RETIREDFAN1
Tonight is Jose Altuve’s 1,700th career game. He will join Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell and Jose Cruz as the only Astros players to reach 1,700 games in an Astros uniform. Wild74
It has been a long time since a team I follow has crashed and burned but the Astros are definitely in that category now. Can't just blame it on coaching and pitching even though pitching has been terrible, but the hitting has been completely dead for the most part. Alvarez is in a major slump and Bregman has been in a slump all season, those two are suppose to be a couple of big producers. Bregmans average is about .195 I know he wants a big contract next year but either the pressure to produce has got to him or he is washed up at 31. Abreu is dead weight filling a roster spot he is not coming back. You need at least a 3 run lead when giving the ball to the now over paid Hader. No way they contend for a wildcard. NO WAY. Hey, it was an amazing run. But standing pat every year is not an answer. They blindly looked over the 1B, SP, and the need for an OF. We had a historic run. They always end.
