⚾⚾⚾ 2024 ASTROS THREAD ⚾⚾⚾

Recommended Posts

What an unbelievable run they have been on after such a horrific start......even more impressive that it has been without their best "all-around" player Tucker.  I'm as shocked as I've ever been with this turn around considering I do not like our SP situation at all.

Still remains to be seen if the pitching holds out.  Blanco has been heaven sent but he will hit the wall as all pitchers do in their first year.  Young pitchers fade in the fall when they first hit the innings total.  Seattle always scares me with their pitching but they just don't have the offense so that is a plus.  The Rangers don't seem to be anywhere near hitting their magical season of last year when everything clicked.  I'm in shock that we are in contention going into the All Star break.

I only scratched the surface in my worry about the SP this year.  Atrocious is the only word that comes to mind.  We keep hearing Verlander and Framber will be back soon.   JV wasn't that good last year and Framber is hit and miss.   This is a loaded team MINUS starting and middle relievers.

How can you not panic.........and I know how early it is.   We are NOT going to win this division and I'm putting this in writing as of 4/12/2024.

But it was one heck of a run

Always so negative........ 😂

Wow..   Last game before All Star break and with your 2 best relievers at the ready in a 1 run game you bring in Montero who has given up more runs than any Astros reliever.

Dusty Baker like move there.   But gotta put all the blame on the offense in the last 2 games.

Oh well.   Still a good run up to the break.

Montero is the type you put in when your 5 or 6 runs down, he knows that but the Rangers are not good enough to get 5 or 6 runs, they only had three hits I think and that gave them enough to beat I can't hit Astros in a big game. Bad pitching decision by the manager, that would have tied it if our long ball pitcher Montero wasn't in there. Of course we would have lost it in extra innings anyhow.

What a stretch by the Astros !   From 10 games down to 1+ ahead in less than 30 days.  And all without Tucker.   Absolutely amazing.
August is a brutal schedule though.   Need to keep it going

Whatever McCormick had last year he lost it this year, he can't hardly foul a ball off just swings and misses

Totally agree.   The inside people were right that Myers is better than McCormick which I totally did not agree with last year.

Doesn't matter how long we hang onto 1st place. I'm certainly glad we are there.....but we are dead meat in the playoffs with this pitching staff.

Not only is our pitching staff bad at least 4 and 5 are, we can't hit the mighty A's pitching

Bases loaded Astros just tied up the game bottom of the 8th and Altuve is up and my goodness he swings at three straight pitches 3 ft outside. Most disappointing  things I have seen from him in quite a while
