THSfanatic
i'd rather beat the Dodgers than the Yankees... btw Did you guys see the pics of Joe Kelly yelling profanities at the Astros players but refusing to come out of the dugout ?? What a clown Edited July 28 by THSfanatic

THSfanatic
What an absolutely terrible trade IMO by the Astros. A promising young starter for a rental. This is trading just for the sake of trading.
THSfanatic
This trade got even worse than I could have imagined.....Bloss, Loperfido, and a prospect for a 2 month rental on a #4 or #5 starter. WTH is going on???? This makes no sense on ANY level. I wouldn't have traded either one of Bloss or Loperfido straight up for him. I need a drink
Wild74
I don't know much about the trade but from what I understand the pitcher we acquired has a hard time throwing 5 innings. On another note Pressley had been very good since the early part of the season but he blew it last night, of course Hader coming in is not always lights out he has a problem finding the strike zone and then has to grove one of those fast balls down the middle. Wild74
Tucker might as well take the rest of the year off, him and Verlander can go fishing together and take Garcia with them
THSfanatic
Good start for Kikuchi. Gave up a double to 1st batter then a HR to next. Lights out after that. 11Ks including 8 in a row in one stretch. We needed the arm but no matter what he does it won't change my mind on what we gave up for a 2 month rental. Not blaming him. I hope he makes it worth it as much as possible. THSfanatic
Astros need to just win series. Seattle doesn't look like they are gonna go on any kind of roll and it sure doesn't look like Texas is going to repeat the magic of last year. Astros definitely have the harder schedule the rest of the way. I'm not counting on any post season magic, but a Division Title would keep me happy. THSfanatic
6 in a row after an opening win in Tampa Bay. Bats have finally stirred. If we could just get Tucker back on the field. btw Dusty........Diaz leading team in RBIs and leading ALL MLB catchers in batting average. Thanks for sitting him all last year. We haven't forgotten
topher805
I'm worried about Tucker. There is video of him working out (Which is a huge step in the right direction), but he still looks rough and far from returning. Having his bat and glove back would be huge for a playoff run. Pitching and hitting seems to be clicking at the same time right now, which will go a long way towards winning the division.
THSfanatic
Astros have reeled off 7 in a row to take a 1.5gm lead. All with Tucker out for over 2 months. smh. It is really hard to believe.

It is really hard to believe. Pitching has turned things around, keeping us in the game and Bregman getting hot cause they had a miserable start to the year. Diaz also is leading us in RBIs so he’s hitting well with runners and scoring position Alvarez is Alvarez the season did not start on a positive note but he’s looking fairly good right now

THSfanatic
Kikuchi has been unbelievable. We still overpaid for him tremendously so glad he is paying immediate dividends.
THSfanatic
8 game road winning streak and coming home with a 2.5gm lead in the Division. What a difference a month makes. Things could not have been darker and while I never imagined them going on this tear I couldn't imagine Seattle imploding either.

topher805
Good chance for the Astros to pad their lead before heading to Baltimore. THSfanatic
Great pitching in a 2-0 White Sox final to take 2 of 3. 7 tough games ahead but Seattle has 7 tough ones too. Great to have a 4 game lead.

regaleagle
Looks like the Astros stay 4.5 up on the Mariners despite dropping 2 in a row to Boston. Just looking forward to Sept.....it appears the Rangers will get the Mariners twice for a total of 6 games and the Astros have 3 games left with Seattle after the Rangers finalize with them. I don't know if this is good news or not for the Astros, but they will definitely be pulling for the Rangers against Seattle in Sept. It's a two-horse race now in the West between Seattle and Houston. Naturally, I'd like to see Houston continue surging forward to the playoffs......chances of a wild card in the West are still possible but not good. KC looks like a likely Wild Card recipient right now......but there is still too many games and too much can happen before season's end. But one thing is for certain.....the Rangers would need a miracle to climb back into the race. Edited August 21 by regaleagle

THSfanatic
Wow The next 2 weeks are brutal but the Astros start the stretch with maybe the season's best performance with a 6-0 win over the Orioles and Corbin Burnes What an impressive win to get to a 5.5gm lead.
