why is a black uniform such a big deal? most teams have black uniform options now a days.

If you wrote 5 lines of trolling nice job. If you actually believe black uniforms are a solid reason to be on your 4th head coach in 5 years, you're part of the reason this is a bad job.

You would be surprised at what makes people mad---As AD I ordered new uniforms that had Black outlines on numbers and name---Only black on the uniform. Our basketball coach also did the same thing with replica duke unis. Someof the town people outraged and when I went to admin the next year they threw 10,000 dollars worth of 1 year old uniforms in the dumpster

Not surprised at all.  I've seen that before.  I always check with admin before ordering uniforms.  I know one school that ordered black pants.  They wore them one game, and then had the most expensive practice pants known to man.

In my opinion if the KIDS want some black uniforms you get them some black uniforms. 
just because old codgers don’t want them doesn’t mean the kids shouldn’t have them. 
it’s about the kids.

I've seen a few head coaches try and get some different "non school official" colored uniforms for various sports. Go as far as having the kids vote on a narrow selection for the uniforms and submit it to admin for approval. Only to have some salty old head from the community throw a fit about them and admin then letting the unis rot in a closet. 

 

Let the kids have some fun. Who cares if they wear black when your colors are blue and white? LK aint Bama, UT or Penn St. Hell Refugio is one of the best small school programs in the nation and they change their helmets every other year it almost. Some change and variety in colors can get kids excited to wear the uniform.

Its not uniform related, but one year we started playing pregame music that excited the players and a group of older fans complained that they did not like the music. They said the music should be for the fans not the players. I told one group that if they were playing we might consider it. Did not go over very well.
