Whale of a time.

AFP photographer Jerome Brouillet captures a whale breaching as Brazil's Tatiana Weston-Webb and Costa Rica's Brisa Hennessy compete in the women's surfing semi-finals, during the 2024 Olympics, in Teahupo'o, on the French Polynesian Island of Tahiti.

I played the drums in my youth and used to play this beat to the song back in the late 60's.  Quit the drums after my freshman year in high school and sold my set.  Too much sports on the schedule.  I did happen to win district singles in tennis as a freshman at Goliad.....back then they were 2A, so they haven't moved much in population since those days.  We had very competitive teams back in the 70's in all sports......and now they are back after being up and down for so long.

How about that Men's 1500 Final, Huh?  Gold and Bronze for the American Men in a huge upset over the Norwegian Olympic Champ and the World Record holder Britain who got Silver by 1/100th of a second.....one more step and it would have been Gold and Silver for the USA.  But what a race.....set a new Olympic Record.  A real gem of a race.

But I guess everybody would agree the best race was the 100 meter where Noah Lyles of the USA won by 5/1000th in a photo check.  It had been since 2004 when Justin Gaitlin won it that a Men's 100 meter ended up in Gold for the USA......a loooong time coming.  20 yrs is 4 Olympics in between golds.
