I work in IT support but share the open-plan office corner with the head of a department, who makes educational decisions for thousands of children in our district, such as approving books, lessons, etc.

I am looking out the window.

Me: “Huh, it always makes me smile when I can see the sun and the moon at the same time.”

Head Of Department: *Scoffs* “Well, that’s impossible.”

Me: “What do you mean?”

Head Of Department: “They’re the same thing! You can’t see them both at the same time!”

Me: *Almost afraid to ask* “Uh, you think they’re the same thing?”

Head Of Department: “Duh! The moon is the sun when it’s gone out for the night.”

Me: “That… that is absolutely not true.”

Head Of Department: “Look, why don’t you stay over there and worry about your computer-y things? I work in education, so I know a few things…”
