PewittPride
PP first team gave up one TD vs Hawkins and Queen City. PP had 5 scores overall against QC and the live quarter was 21-0 PP. PP Hawkins was 3-1 Total I think and 7-7 in the live quarter. JV and the 2's were about a split I think. No personal fouls or mouthing this week for the Bulls. Defense was pretty good except for some offside penalties and a couple of long passes. Much improved from last year. Acewell
2 live quarters. Spring Hill 14 New Diana 14 I didn't watch the early controlled part. SH might be a little better than last year on both sides if they stay healthy. I liked the way they played. They are still very small for 4A though. Diana is Big and Fast.

CasualObserver70
Gilmer/Whitehouse controlled scrimmage: Gilmer 1st 15 (McCown QB): 3 & out, 3 & out, 1 first down and out, ran out of plays with 2nd and goal at the 5. Whitehouse 15 3 first downs, 40 yards, & out. 2 First downs, 25 yards, & out. Out of plays. Gilmer 15 (Tennison QB): 4 plays, TD. 2 plays, TD. Moving when out of plays. Whitehouse 15: 3&out. 3&out. 5 plays, TD. Out of plays. Live play: Whitehouse 10, Gilmer 7. (Gilmer had pick 6 called back by penalty) I actually thought Gilmer looked better with Tennison at QB, but he didn’t take any snaps during the live quarters. take what you will from it. It’s a scrimmage.
trueblue82
Controlled scrimmage, Joaquin’s 1s scored twice and Logansport’s 1s scored twice. Neither team’s 2s found the end zone. In a 15 minute live quarter, the Rams scored first on a pick 6, a long drive and a 96 yard run. Defense got a brilliant goal line stand after a deep pass set up a 1st and goal inside the five. We still have a lot to work on, but I think we definitely improve over last year’s performance.

Was told the Hawkins TD came off a long ball. He said their QB had a cannon and they had some big receivers. I’m just glad to hear they didn’t allow anything on the ground. A long ball I can take. JV- Hard to keep up with all 75 dang kids LE had shuffling in and out but the best of my recollection, LE scored 2, NB (22 kids) scored once. Varsity- again, hard to keep up with LE and what was 1’s and 2’s, beside the QB and a couple skilled kids LE scored 2 in control, NB didn’t score. Live half, LE scored 2 maybe 3 and NB scored once, from what i remember, could be off on LE score though. But i tell ya, the Prevo/Baysinger combo is going to be deadly in that District! LE’s #1 RB (i think #1) appeared to go down with a BAD knee injury. Kind of a fluke deal, was making a cut and instantly went down, Prayers he is ok and it’s not a season ending injury! Also, kind of suprised to see Prevo and Baysinger in the game the entire scrimmage, especially after he took several shots and slow to get up on one of them. NB going to be OK in theirs, they played LE SUPER TOUGH! I was anticipating LE being extremely hard to handle for NB but they really wasn’t the case. NB’s 1’s moved the ball on the ground fairly well in several possessions, scored once and fumbled away the next couple. Thier D got to Baysinger SEVERAL times and took him down, couple hard shots too! I would think LE “could” will be the most rounded team NB will face during district play and if they keep the same intensity and stay healthy, NB gonna make some loud noise! Wouldn’t be wise to sleep on NB, write that down! Edited August 23 by kooldown54

Sounds great thanks for the update, the injury is def concerning that was one thing I was hoping not to happen, I hope that he is not a senior, that would be devastating and nobody in our district really knows about Prevo yet, the kid is a beast, and is only a JR. O-line sounds like they need some work, sounds like you guys hung tough and that is a good sign.

That is correct, Hawkins lone TD came off of two long passes back to back where the tall receiver just got past the defender and made great catches. They weren't running free in the secondary or on blown coverages, they just executed the plays well and made the catches. That QB could sling it. Most of the time he had defenders in his face and was under pressure and missed on the throws. Edited August 23 by PewittPride

KirtFalcon
Garrison and Beckville Controlled Garrison V1 1Td Beckville V1 1 Td 2 live quarters Garrison 7 Beckville 7 Very good scrimmage both teams moved the ball well. Beckville through the air ... They have 2 good QBs that can really sling it ... Garrison's best RB and probably their best defender didn't suit up but several other young players looked good and Garrison ran the ball well with a few passes mixed in .... we still have a lot of work to do. The injury bug has already hit us it seems. Several kids on the IR list so early ....
