Season openers are often hard to predict; I certainly don’t know who will win this one. However, I do know that it has been a very long time since Carthage lost a game at home.

Probably us in 2016 almost certain.

This’ll be a great game! Kilgore always plays us tough a d has athletes.

We have to hope our DL can get plenty of pressure and cause some errant passes and squash some runs before they get started.

I’m looking forward to this matchup.

We know what we have with KJ and to some extent, Jett at QB even though it’s only his second year to start.

Our defense will be more seasoned this year and should perform better overall than last year.

Don’t forget number 22. Nobody could tackle him for no gain. Just a sophomore last year, he is bigger and stronger this year. I am excited to see him this year.
this will be a great game.
Jett threw 46 touchdowns last year as a sophomore. He will be bigger stronger and a seasoned vet with 14 games under his belt as a starter.

Henderson over Carthage…I wonder if that will ever happen again 😂

Henderson and Kilgore will probably be in the same district for many more years.......I wonder if Hendo ever beats Kilgore again.

Dave Campbell ranked Carthage and Kilgore Defenses number 1 and 2 in all of 4A. I have no doubt both teams are bigger stronger. It will be a great game.

We done it plenty of times even when we missed the playoffs.

Dawgs…..I feel like last yr was the yr to get them and Dogs didn’t get it done even with the help of 5 or 6 turnovers. I could be wrong but I think the Dawgs get the W by 10+

Uhmm Kilgore had turnovers that game too...also had a blocked PAT that was returned for 2 pts for Carthage...literally would of been 28-28 if not...and I could be wrong but I don't remember Carthage having 5 or 6 turnovers...I know of 2 for sure maybe 3

I agree last year the Dawgs started a ton of sophomores at key positions. This year will be much more difficult task.

They were arguably the 2 best defenses in all of 4A last year. So it's not a big stretch to predict that this year with almost everybody coming back for both.

Eventually they will catch Kilgore in a "down" year.

Lots of them will be bigger and stronger this go-round. The 230# sophomore nose tackle for Kilgore last year is now a 280# junior nose tackle with D-1 offers rolling in.

Oh, and we also have a really tall, fast WR/DB.... #3 I think.... I don't know how good he is, but some school in Michigan thinks he's pretty good.

Don't forget about Lakeyleon Graves(JR) getting a 247sports ranking recently..won't be long until offers start rolling in...

Kilgore has to be more discipline than last year. If I remember correctly Carthage went for on 4th down last year and Kilgore was called for a personal foul. Ended up scoring and being the deciding factor in the game.

He was good last that’s for sure.
Carthage has two outstanding 4 th year starters at 300 pounds on the D line.
Going to be. Slobber knocker.

The D linemen are 3 year starters not 4.
I had to correct that.

I also remember a late 4th qtr play last year where the tight end was WIDE open for a a go-ahead TD and we threw it to the opposite side. There were plenty of opportunities to win that one.

Also happened in the playoff game against CH except the WR dropped would have gave Kilgore the win.
