This is a good test for WH.  It's more of a litmus test of where they are than last week's game.

They dominated a really bad DISD team.  Most of those DISD schools (outside of SOC and a few others) would probably finish dead last in 99% of all the ETX 4A/5A/6A districts.

Yeah but i think Kilgore is on a mission to bring that title home. I believe they win this game.

Beating Carthage especially in Carthage will get everyone attention. I could honestly see them going 10-0 this year. I sincerely hope not but the possibility is there! In fact I know to current coaches and I still can’t root for them lol! Go House!!

WH is big up front. Team speed is average, they have one quick RB. QB is quick, average accuracy. WH defense was not tested. DWW looked like a JV team at best. WH Safety has Committed to TCU. Kilgore has too much speed on defense. Kilgore wins!

Kilgore played a great defense in Carthage and had a hard time moving the ball, but they have a good QB and running back. Against Carthage they learned by moving the QB out of the pocket, he was money on his throws. That Kilgore defense is going to give the offense plenty of time to figure things out. When they do. They Will something.
Kilgore is the team to beat in my opinion in their district and the region.

After seeing their season opener, I’m not sure how good the Kilgore offense is or will be this season. It’s going be difficult for any offense to look very good against this year’s Carthage defense. So the jury is still out on them.

But you’re right, C&C, in your comment about this Kilgore defense.  The yards aren’t going to come easy against them…much less the points.

Kilgore should win this one…and maybe all of them this year.

Good post BBJ.... I always respect your input because it's always spot on.

My take on Kilgore's O against Carthage....

I thought QB1 showed great composure in his first varsity start against arguably the top 4A defense in the state (I'll call them 1B, but I'm biased). He has a plus arm, quick release, good accuracy, and he can fly.... didn't really take off running against Carthage, but his speed will be a problem for opponents this year. He has a plethora of athletes to throw to as well.

We had 5 new starter's on the O-line, including our starting nose tackle who played 40+ snaps at LT because our LT1 is out for a couple of weeks. No sacks, no false starts, no bad snaps, and only 2 or 3 negative plays. That's pretty good against a D-line like Carthage has. RB1 against Carthage is also MLB1. He's a very good, physical RB.... but soph RB2 is is special, and he's eventually going to be toting the load from the backfield.

Our offense actually exceeded my expectations against Carthage and they'll look a lot better against most everyone else on our schedule. And  if we can get the total snap count down for our 2-way players.... our defense will be even better than it was against the C-Dawgs.

Spot on! I believe Cam played 100+ plays ( Travis Hunter of HS 😂)

I don't know if I will expect to see him play that many Friday but you never know.

Kayson, looked really good when he was rolling out the pocket and I'm sure coaches noticed that to and can probably add a couple more wrinkles to that.

Watters is a between the tackles type back and he thrives there. Williams is more of get him to the outside and let him work. Not quite big enough in my opinion to go through the middle just yet.

Kilgore just has some big kids not speed, they just huge, what they be feeding them kids Cornbread, Kilgore eating good over there for sure, make powerhouse Carthage look like it's there down year.I watch that game between Kilgore vs Carthage I was not impressed,Carthage didn't look like Carthage from years back ,the only impressive I seen was Kilgore size on Defense and Offense, I see it's hard to go up against  Kilgore's Defense this year, Kilgore reminds me of Carthage Defense I think 2017 era, how big the kids were.

Kilgore doesn't have speed?! 👀 Guess we weren't watching the same game 😆

To me what I saw no, that's my opinion, they are big tho but not lighting fast that's my opinion, that don't mean that they not good, of course they are good and has some speed but not lighting fast is what I'm saying.

Me neither I guess.

I can't verify what the Lion guy said, but he's sounding more like Lion7000 lol. There's ALOT of team speed, highlighted by d1 CB/WR Michigan commit but there's PLENTY of others that are very quick and agile.

Brothers or first cousins, is my guess.
