OK, a few quick observations:

1. It seemed pretty clear that the lights were set on a timer to go off at 10:30, assuming the game would be over by that time. The mass confusion was caused by whether the play that started with the lights on and ended with them off should count or be played over. Since no referee blow whistle, the play counted. It was confusing, but I think an honest error.
2. Gilmer played much better tonight than last week against Pine Tree. They still have to clean up some areas of their game. But the offense was much better. Defensively, they did a good job against a very explosive Chapel Hill offense. The Chapel Hill quarterback is just too talented and escaped from trouble several times. But hats off to Gilmer for playing much better.
3. It seems pretty clear that Gilmer plans to go with McCown at quarterback. I can partly see why. He has good instincts, he navigates the pocket well, and he keeps his eyes downfield. It also frees up Tennison to play receiver, which he played extremely well tonight.  However, he is going to have to learn to put some touch on the deep pass. He had multiple times tonight when he overthrew wide-open receivers. If he gets the timing right, this offense could be very explosive.
4. I think Gilmer is still searching for first team running back. I think in the end it might be Simms as the best choice.  I might use the others as change of pace, but I think Simms has a little more power and a little better leg drive.
5. Chapel Hill is extremely talented offensively. The two headed running attack is devastating, and they throw just enough to keep teams honest.

overall, this was a really fun game to watch. A lot of improvement by the buckeyes. Which ever team lost tonight certainly would have thought they should have won it. Both teams had chances. Hats off to Chapel Hill for making the plays when they needed to.

Hats off to Gilmers defense. Very fast and tackles well. Nothing came easy for CH. They have several defensive lineman that are absolute monsters.

I agree. Gilmer D is no joke!

Well said! Great game by both teams. Both teams fought very hard. My initial thoughts were CH would win by several thinking Gilmer still had work to do after last week. I was def wrong and on the edge of my seat all night.

Appears to have had an issue with the stadium lighting.

Make it all game and with 6 seconds left and about to lose, all of a sudden, a “problem” with stadium lighting. Give me a break. Honestly, should have seen it coming, that is just how they operate down there.
