This will be the 10th meeting in the last 9 years with Franklin holding a 5-4 advantage. They split the meeting's last season with Lorena winning the district game to end Franklin's 39 game win streak on a last sec fg. Franklin returned the favor in the regional final beating Lorena. I haven't gotten to watch the game again but there was 29 total penalties from what the Waco paper said. I think Koff had a record of about at least 19/20 of those with about 150/200 penalty yds. Then add in 3 fumbles, one of those was when Koff was about to score on the 1 yard line and Lorena got it back for a touchback. Another was a bad snap/fumble for a punt that setup Lorena for a score. This is my opinion too, I think we came in there thinking that it would be an easy win and it showed at the beginning of the game. They got out of it. I will also add that the crew calling the game wasn't the greatest and it was effecting how we played. We managed to overcome all of that and still won the game. It's not easy to win in Lorena. Lorena still has that great Dline from last season. #11 took a hard hit towards the end of the game. If he's out, it could be a longer night for Lorena as he's one of their main targets. lionpride08 Posted September 12 Author Share Posted September 12 Never know how this game can go being a newer type game. Franklin won the only neutral spot game last season in the playoffs. But in a home and home series the road team has won 6 of the 8 meetings. With each team winning one game at home (Franklin in 2017 and Lorena in 2019). If you have never been to a Lorena vs Franklin game it's the meaning of friday night lights. Small Towns meeting up packing the stands and everyone in the stadium is rowdy.
