Joe Wylie

The versatile Wylie excelled no matter where his coaches lined him up on the football field. Starting at split end for Henderson as a sophomore, he led the state in receiving. Moved to tailback as a junior, he earned all-state honors the next two seasons, racking up 2,812 yards as a senior. He ended his high school career with 5,804 all-purpose yards, and was also a standout in baseball and track, where he qualified for state in the discus and high hurdles and won the 330 intermediates. Ranked among the state's top football recruits, he signed with Oklahoma and played halfback in the Sooners' vaunted wishbone alongside Gregg Pruitt and Jack Mildren, receiving all-Big 8 recognition in 1970, when he ran for 984 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. He also set a Sooners record for kick return average at 25.7 yards.

Kamden Perry, Class of 2019 (Longview)...  1st and 10? 3rd and long? Hitch, slant, fade? Floating over the middle? Doesn't matter. If you get the ball anywhere near him, he's coming down with it.

I watched Perry play four years of high school ball at Longview and he never dropped a catchable pass. Hell, I saw him catch numerous un-catchable passes.

Though he was nowhere near as naturally talented as guys like Jalen Hale or Malcolm Kelly, in my opinion he's the best wideout in Lobo history.

My dad faced Joe Wylie in high school. Played middle linebacker. Said he was like a man among boys with the ball in his hands.

The defense would double-, triple-, or just all-11 focus in on him, but he'd bob, weave, or just flat outrun every man on the field.

Good choice but little before my time. The teams wasn’t the best 8-3 but he could fly at Qb , return game was outstanding , and good at receiver. He made to the NFL as a Defensive back. Great talent

The big QB and LB on one of P P's deep playoff runs(maybe won state) was really good also........Thinking his name was Jimmy Wilkerson, but definitely not sure on the name.

He was good but I'd take Jessie for the impact on the game.
