Carthage @ Chapel Hill

Carthage is the best team in all of 4A this year. Period. I knew they would be loaded this year but their defense may be the best they have ever had. Carthage absolutely man handled chapel hill tonight. Gilmer will have a tough test to try to get by Carthage in the playoffs and will have to hope they have an off night like they did when they played Kilgore.

The Chapel Hill offensive line couldn’t stop them all night. No first downs the entire first half??? Chapel Hill still had Stewart. He is a Texas commit and we can’t get a first down? Not having Brisbon wasn’t the reason the score ended up like it did.

It wasn’t an off night, Jett’s leg was black and blue, swollen up like a grapefruit. He could not get any zip on the ball. Big deference when he is healthy.
we know when we get to Gilmer it will be a battle.

Don't discredit Kilgore win over Carthage as an off night. When it's week one. Smh. Kilgore won the game. End of story.

Same guy from Kilgore that writes a half a page about how Kilgore got cheated by/at Gilmer, says a Carthage fan can't say they had an off night......lol

This guy sure gets riled up by Kilgore fans….

Good win Dawgs!!! Yella Dogs I hate that your team wasn’t at full strength so I could’ve had a truer picture of where the Dawgs actually were and areas that I think needed attention. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Final

It appears the Carthage varsity has called up some of the players who started out this season on the JV. One of the starting LBs the past two weeks, #26, wasn’t on the varsity roster for the opening game against Kilgore. With Preston out tonight, #18 played a lot at WR; he wasn’t on the opening roster either.

High ankle sprain in warmups and it was bad, but still, we got beat fair and square.

Kilgore’s secondary shut our receivers down and intercepted Jett five times.

It was quite a performance by Carthage just to have a chance to win it at the end with that many turnovers.

Anyhow, Kilgore won and we have to get a new streak started.

Seems our Bulldogs are getting into a groove and we can only hope so.

Go Dawgs!
