could this be the year that both 4AD1 and 4AD2 State champions do not come from East Texas?

lol. Just ones that are up past their bedtime asking dumb questions.

Seems like your in your feelings a kid who didn't play football last year OR played a varsity snap until this year just threw for 281 yards on your Dawgs.

Give em' some credit man.

Celina and Panther Creek are going at it next week. Tepper said on HS Scoreboard Live that when the rankings come out next week, Celina will be No. 2 in Div. I. That doesn’t matter, except that next Friday will be a No. 2 vs No. 3 at The Star for the district opener — and some might say the district championship. Ought to be a real fun one.

Quite possibly the first of two meetings between the Bobcats and Panthers too.

I still say Celina controls their on destiny.
This year seems different for Celina.
With their O line, they can control the tempo of a game. There defense don’t have to be great, just good. Throw the ball when the other team is not expecting it. Until someone beats them. Their my pick in their district and a deep run in the playoffs.

Now that you’ve had your bottle and a nappy you can feel free to share with me who I was making fun of?

Surratt don’t loose state championships. Coached in 10 and won all 10. This 2024 version of the Dawgs can win number 10. Will they, we will find out.

I’m aware of that. But he said Carthage.

It would be pretty cool to see a giant red Kilgore/Carthage caravan rolling down I-20 on 12/20 knowing we don't have to play each other when we get there. Whatcha think Lion7000?

Are you trying to kill me ? I still not over that 2013 State Championship! I didn’t even eat that Christmas!

I definitely think they have the best chance at winning another championship for East Texas.

I think D2 is more likely for ETX than D1, but I'm not sure yet if it's Gilmer or Carthage that I would be picking. I think for sure a D1 team will be in the championship game though.

Yeah, this is my thought. I think East Texas has representation in both state championship games, at the very least. In Div. II, I just don't see anyone from Region I that will knock off Carthage or Gilmer, EXCEPT maybe Brock. The Eagles are historically good enough, disciplined enough and well-coached enough to at least have a puncher's chance. It's also their first foray in 4A, which isn't a bad thing, in my opinion. They don't know exactly what they're up against. They don't know they shouldn't be able to play with Gilmer and Carthage.

In Div. I, I THINK someone from District 9 makes it to the title game. Although, I do think they're going to get a decent game out of the Region IV champ, because you've got Austin LBJ who can match those District 9 heavyweights in terms of athletes, as well as El Campo and SA Davenport. LBJ has the best shot of that bunch, in my opinion, but who knows. Lots of football between now and then.

But if I were betting on it today, I'd say East Texas gets a team in both state title games, and claims a championship in Div. II.

That's why they played PG, Wimberly, and WF Hirschi the last two years.  Just to get battle tested. While I don't think they will win it, don't count against them.  They have been preparing for this jump.  Just like this year scheduling Div 1 teams already.
