District 10-6A-And the District Race Is On...

District 10-6A kicked off the 2024 Football season with two upsets and a big comeback win.

The comeback win was not the fact that they were highly favored, but the Rockwall Yellowjackets took revenge on their 70-17 loss to North Crowley. The next man up was the Royse City Bulldogs and the Yellowjackets were swarming mad after getting torched in their last preseason game.

Enough said, Rockwall 64 Royse City 20

North Forney faced off against their cross-town rival, the Forney Jackrabbits. Forney, after a highly respected final run in Class 5A that exposed their great running attack that was led by Sophomore Javian Osborne, who finished Forney's last year program with over 2000 yards rushing. But the Jackrabbits may have been marking this one down as a 'W', and North Forney welcomed Forney into Class 6A with a convincing victory.

Final score North Forney 35 Forney 31

And last but certainly not least, Rockwall Heath traveled to East Texas to take on Tyler Legacy and what a way to start off District play with an overtime unexpected victory that was decided by a single point after touchdown. The Hawks may be wanting a do over, but it will go down in the history books as a victory for the Raiders.

Upset? How will this affect the final playoff picture...Tyler Legacy 31 Rockwall-Heath 30

Next Week's Schedule and my picks-

Game and Pick-

Rockwall at Longview- Rockwall by 7

Forney at Royse City- Royse City by 3

Tyler Legacy at North Forney- North Forney by 10

Rockwall-Heath- Bye Week

i’m shocked that Legacy won the game. i think this was first time Legacy has beaten heath.

If you saw the game. You would realize Heath is not as good as they have been since Webb took over.

Lee has beaten Heath twice, not including yesterday.

Agree with all except RC beating Forney by 3.  Give me Forney by 21.

Longview could be on its way to winning it all, at least in this district. Longview downs Forney, North Forney slips past Heath, Legacy beats Royse City and Rockwall gets a mid-season night off before fighting their way to, at least a possibly of a playoff appearance.  Big games still ahead in this race. Rockwall still has North Forney and Forney ahead. North Forney vs. Longview could be a game to watch, while Royse City, Heath and Legacy try to keep themselves out of the cellar.

Could it possibly end up this way?

1. Longview'

2. Rockwall

3. North Forney

4. Forney

5. Royse City

6. Legacy

7. Rockwall-Heath

Still on the schedule to finish out the year. Toughest remaining schedule? Best remaining schedule?  In not necessarily the correct order of games to play. Please correct me if I am wrong...

Royse City vs. Heath, North Forney and Longview.

Rockwall vs. Forney, North Forney, Legacy and Heath.

Longview vs. Legacy, Heath, North Forney and Royse City.

Forney vs. Rockwall, Heath and Legacy.

Tyler Legacy vs. Longview, Rockwall and Forney

Heath vs. Royse City, Longview, Rockwall and Forney

North Forney vs. Rockwall, Royse City and Longview

In my opinion...Tyler Legacy has a very tough schedule ahead. Longview might be polishing off the District Championship trophy with their schedule.

Any dark horses looking in and any possible upsets in the making?

Legacy definitely started their district run with the easiest schedule. I honestly can't see them winning another game, but that final game of the season in Forney is juicy depending on how the Jackrabbits continue to play out.

Forney looked lost from the second quarter on against Longview. A shell of the team that took the field last year against the Lobos. It felt like a lot of bickering was happening amongst the team. Definitely saw their frustration when not able to stop the run.

I feel like Rockwall will absolutely dominate them, much the way the Lobos did. But Rockwall's defense is not that good either.

Interested to see how the Heath/City game goes. Heath hanging with North Forney is pretty shocking to me. Can't see Royse City beating them but who knows. Maybe that was Heath's last stand at a playoff spot this year. Excited to return to the Wilk next week with the Lobos making the trip.

How you posted on Saturday is almost my prediction for the district race, just with Legacy finishing 5th, Heath 6th and Royse City 7th.

Right now I have it going

1) Longview

2) Rockwall

3) North Forney

4) Forney

5) Tyler Legacy

6) Rockwall-Heath

7) Royse City

I wouldn't necessarily lock North Forney into that third-place spot. Not at this point anyhow. They still have Rockwall, Royse City and Longview ahead of them. I haven't done the math; but stranger things happen in those last three and four games of the season.

North Forney would have to lose all three to not finish 3rd, following their win over Forney earlier.

Only way I could see them finishing 4th even is if they lose out with that loss to Rockwall, then Rockwall also ends up losing out to Forney, Legacy and Heath after the win over them.

I'm only a fan of one team lol

It's not personal...just the reality as I see it...Royse City losing H2H to Tyler Legacy just makes it tough to pass them up this late year
