People are always hating on Kilgore for no reason. Kilgore is better than people realize.

No one is hateing on Kilgore, we all know Kilgore is the clear fav. To win it all, but with ravolry game it can be close and any thing possible, like few years back Kilgore thought they were going to blow away Palestine a few years ago but Palestine was able to win against Kilgore so anything can happen.

First road test against a longtime rival. Henderson has shown some improvement but with their experience Kilgore gets the win in a close game. Kilgore scheduled the Lions for Homecoming lets make it entertaining for everyone..

Through 5 games Hendersons offense is putting up 50 ppg...against a soft schedule. In their 4 wins Hendersons average margin of victory is 31 ppg. Their one loss was a 44-41 shootout with 3A Liberty-Eylau (LE lost to Carthage by 38). Palestine put up 38 points against the Lions last week...in their other 4 games the Wildcats averaged 13.5 ppg. It will be interesting to see if Hendos offense can move the ball consistently against a really good Kilgore defense...and if Hendos defense can maybe get an occasional stop. Imo...Hendos best chance is to shorten the game...try to limit the number of possessions...and hope for a break or two (or three or four lol).

Ready to see if the Kilgore offense will get rolling. No offense, but Henderson’s D doesn’t seem too impressive. Actually, yes offense, I can’t stand Henderson. And I wish this rivalry would heat up again like in its heyday! 😂

That might be asking too much, considering what happens when Hendo plays good teams 🤣

So Kilgore's biggest question mark coming into this season was the O-line. We returned 0 starters and arguably the best returning lineman we had was lost for the season due to a medical condition in 2-a-days. Our first 5 opponents this season all had tremendous defensive lines (Carthage, Gilmer, Whitehouse, Pleasant Grove, Pine Tree). This young O-line held their own against all of them and have gotten better each week. I have a feeling that our young RB Rayshawn Williams is fixing to start seeing more daylight in front of him... and he don't need much.

I agree! Williams has had more room to run the last couple of games. He has the athletic ability to be a very good running back. When my nephew was coaching at Kilgore, I didn't have to ask this kind of question in a public format, but is Williams just a freshmen?

He's a sophomore...but he started last year as a freshman

He's a sophomore. He got brought up to the varsity last year as a freshman about halfway through the season and showed out. I think he was our leading rusher for the season and really shined in the playoffs. He'll likely be Kilgore's career rushing leader by the time he's done.

Yea they shut out Palestine last week. I believe the freshman aren’t that great. Went by the stadium and it was like 29-7 . The JV is decent but I haven’t followed them!
