Next week will be interesting with Gilmer vs PG

I was not overly impressed with PG tonight.  Sure they were superior to SH but they did not look like they were ready for prime time. PG QB struggled to hit open receivers all night.  He better get that fixed or it’s going to be a long night against Gilmer.

If that's the case, they will definitely struggle with Gilmer. That D will not allow much time in the pocket.

Unless Gilmer gets healthy on the d-line, I look for P G to have a big game rushing the ball.  But I am not predicting a winner.

That doesn’t seem to be their identity this year though.  They are trying to be more balanced.

Thank you, they didn't impress me either when we played em pre-district. Yeah, they beat handily but it was 7-7 going into 2nd Q and no one really stood out (I guess Jackson is all)

A few quick observations.

1. Van should have run the ball more.  They were gaining 4 yards a pop.  When they went run heavy in the second half, the game turned around.

2. Gilmer was excellent in the first half, but situational awareness is at times still a head scratcher.  The onside kick seemed to be expected by everyone but the players on the field.  You have to be aware of that in that moment.
3. McCown plays great at QB, but he just struggles so much with the deep ball.  Just can’t get the right touch on it.  If he figures that out, Gilmer will be seriously dangerous on offense.
4. Van OLine impressed me.  Big and physical.  That’s why I’m surprised they didn’t run more.

great win for the Buckeyes.  Van should be a playoff contender.  They will probably wind up 3rd in district, so they will miss Carthage.  They could go 3-4 rounds possibly.

I think Van vs PG will be a good game.

Go get em, Bux! Family ties from Gilmer for past 18+ years and definitely enjoy attending games when I can! (My nephew is on the 8th team)

the occasional deep shot to Webb is definitely the one thing we’re still missing from last year. even starting to miss Will Henderson less with Butler emerging.

The way that Tennison is being done is a shame. These coaches try and teach selfishness but are showing any type of loyalty. You go from winning a state championship to barely being involved. The kid gets no reps on defense and only gets targeted maybe 3 or 4 times a game a wideout. When he does go in a QB all of a sudden he’s a gimmick QB it’s a shame.

Wonder why Pate wasn't kicking off. He finally did after his field goal. Nice, deep one unlike the bizarre pop-ups to the 30 or 35 that we were doing before he finally go to kick off.

Also, I definitely knew the Van onside kick was coming. Couldn't believe how apparently surprised the Bux were.

Several people have said this but I'm not sure what y'all expecting with 1 returner on offense.

Guessing SH had 6-7 first downs all night? And 1 successful drive against 7 substitutes. Yeah, SH scored but in two plays PG subbed 7 players out and by that time PG was backed down to about the 5-10 yard line.

Not sure what everyone is expecting here... They look fine for a young team to me.

They are a good team and will have a good playoff run no doubt.
