New from Football Friday

Just came over from Football Friday app. Been following message boards here for a while. I was Juggernaut on the DCTF app for Midlothian Heritage. Deleted the app today, looking forward to building some new relationships here and bringing some DFW perspective.

They tanked them. I’ve been on there for years. Always thought I brought positive informative messaging. Was well followed but they banned me today, I think because I used the word “crap”. Not totally sure but that’s all I can assume. I was preety upset for a while honestly but breakups can be hard lol.

Been on both apps for years, but that one was only useful to keep up with scores and talk trash. If I can't do both then this one is more fun.

Bummer. I kept posting and it never would show up. I thought the app was broke then I thought to look in the forum and found out they shut it down. You'd think if they were going to shut it down they would just remove the feature entirely.

I bet they don’t shut it down.  Keeping it down long enough for the habitual offenders to lose interest and go elsewhere, then they will turn it back on.

Maybe so. If not, one less distraction lol. I didn't post much over there but it was like football soap opera reading through it all. Scanning through their forum, it seems like a lot of folks are really upset. I look at it like it is, a free app/service. While I may enjoy it being there, I certainly don't expect it. I'll still use it for scores.

It was better before they updated the app in the last couple years as well. It was basic and worked well.

Agree.  They don’t have enough control of the chat to keep the kids and folks looking to cause trouble.  It wasn’t that way before.

The dctf staff is very soft. Not sure how they cover football and claim to be from texas with how soft they are,

The number of kids who are on the app daily making idiotic posts in need of monitoring would be enough for a whole staff.  Since it’s a business, maybe they are doing the responsible thing and removing the non-revenue generating thing causing the most issue, so they can focus on covering high school football?

Problem is the people who used the chat were the ones updating the scores, they won't have any reason to go to the app now.

Good point. I always thought the Scorestream app looked promising, but without users it just doesn't work.

There are steps that they can take to mitigate the nonsense like permanently banning certain accounts from posting or requiring age verification for creating a profile. Completely canning the chat for people who aren’t an issue is not ideal if you want to appeal to your fanbase. They’re losing subscribers now because of their mishandling of the app. It’s not just the chats, they changed the whole layout of the app when they bought it and did not listen to fans when we were very vocal about our dislikes for the new format. Go look at the their App Store reviews and you’ll see

You don’t think the app and the community, buzz, energy, awareness that the chat rooms have historically created are responsible for creating interest in their other content, thus driving subscription revenue? There are a ton of daily app users who subscribe.  The app is the reason I subscribed to the site content.
