Tyler High At Midlothian

Nothing much to say besides that we have to win simple. This has been a masterclass meltdown by the coaching staff so far? And very disappointing year. You have to ask yourself if Tyler doesn’t make it to the playoffs for a second straight year, was woods and his staff the choice for the job  and will the potentially be fired or should we have went with a proven state winner from the north shore staff who applied.

I can say one thing. AledoAlumni will be checking on this thread or give his reply. You can bet your last dime he is going to bring up the JT 2014 team.

I don't think he was the wrong hire. You can't always expect a coach to turn around a dumpster fire rapidly. It takes time. So many things are against JT right now. We can thank the Tisd administrator's for that right now. They couldn't leave well enough along. We now have two terrible programs. I saw this coming years ago. And I have been preparing myself for it. Just gotta let it play out now.

Right hire, hope he sticks around.  I can see improvement in the program.  They missing the one thing the other great JT teams had...a dynamic playmaker under center.  I like the current QB.  He got heart and for a guy his size he throws the ball alot better than one would think.  But he don't scare you with his feet.  Most guys his size make up the difference by running but he ain't really a runner, which is probably why the other guy was the intial starter last yr.  Good news is he is just a junior and JT got alot of guys coming back next yr.  But, I still don't see this program getting back to that top level until another Bryson Smith walk those hallways.

In a way depending on how things fall, Tyler is still in play for second place.

1. you have to win out

2. If you win out you have the head to head over Midlo and red oak which puts you in the playoffs.

3. I expect to Midlo to and cen 10 to lose out, which will eliminate cen 10 from the playoffs.

4. If we win out the final standings in this scenario would be

1. HP

2. Tyler

3. Red oak

4. Midlo

5. If Midlo loses to us and beats red oak then the standings would be

6. 1. HP

2. Midlo

3. Tyler

4. Red Oak

Either would be the best case scenario for CUJO

Which is funny you say that. I don't know if you were at the game Friday. It was 4th and whatever. He had 15 yards of open space to go get the 1st down. He threw it and they turned it over on downs. The next series, I guess the coaches told him he needed to start running the ball and he did. He should have been running the ball. He could have extended so many drives this year. I guess in his mind,  he is a pocket passer and not a dual threat.

At some point reality has to kick in. You really think JT is going to win out and get 2nd place. We have gathered enough information on 8 games that they have played this year. They are what they are. They are very inconsistent. I can be wrong. I just don't think that they are good enough to win out and make the playoffs.

I saw that.

This team ain't good enough for him to be just a pocket passer.  But, I'm not sure if he is a natural runner.  Kid has heart though and he can throw it.

He better learn to run. It was a instance where he should have been tackled for a lost. Instead of going down he reversed the field. It seems he wanted to throw the ball but the whole stands was yelling run, run, run. He did run and got the 1st down but you can tell he wanted to throw it. That was funny to me. Everyone in the crowd was yelling at the top of their lungs for him to run.

I just put the scenario out there, doesn’t mean it will happen. But the reality is that this is the only way they can get in. Anything can happen at any given moment. They could go out there at wet the bed and be eliminated or they go with sense of urgency and pull and upset. These are teenagers anything is possible.

yea, but he needs to be a threat to run at other times too.  They do these zone read type run plays where it seems like he is an option to keep the ball on the hand off, but he always gives it to the rb.  Teams see that and always key in on the rb. If he kept it sometimes, it would probably open things up much more.

we got spoiled for yrs with the qb play and honestly looking back, the qbs is what boosted this program to elite status.   I don't know if we got great talent coming up from Moore and Boulter anymore on a consistent basis.

I agree. I don't know why he doesn't zone read period. He doesn't believe in keeping it for himself.
