This post took a wrong turn. Lol. Still hate it for these LK kids. Hope they can figure out something next year to make steps toward being competitive.

You're right. Tough draw for them this year for sure!

They can start taking steps on November 11 of this year - commitment to strength training(both at the junior high and high school levels).........I am not talking extreme stuff, just as much and as hard as other schools.

A coach to bring those values in would be steps in the right direction.

There have been a couple names, and when I contact one of them, he tells me the same thing. I’d hope he’s interested, although he’s coaching at a bigger school in the area. It would be hard for him to leave like he always tells me. I feel for the community and the kids. There needs to be a positive, realistic rebuild of that program. When I graduated in 2011, we had just came off two good seasons and I just want to see that happening again at LK.

09 and 10 were really two really good seasons for the Tigers. Hopefully whoever gets the job can turn it back around.

Maxpreps has L-K giving up 303 more points than they have scored............Makes me wonder, in 11-man Texas UIL football, what is the worse in points differential all-time ?

I think you would have to go back to the early 70's and look at Big Sandy , three strait state championships and scored a bunch of points and give up very few. just me thinking

Your example would be “best” point differential…….I was wondering about “worse”.

Wondering—- I am hearing things about the LK school system in general ( nothing bad). They are losing kids every year and facilities are an issue with no real tax base so how long before they go the Karnack route and just have an elementary/ jr high there ?

It’s difficult to hire a quality coaching staff at a school district that is struggling financially. With the number of schools in the state expanding, it’s going to continue to get tougher on the rural, funding challenged districts to keep up in facilities and staffing. There will be difficult decisions and uncomfortable conversations at a lot of school districts like LK around the state in the coming years.

It is going to get tougher for most of our school around the area with all the money flying around in only certain places

I think it is going to take someone that truly wants to be at LK to make this work, or going to have to take a chance on a young guy and hope it works out. Going to need a full reboot of the program

Someone who will put time and effort into the junior high program

I agree. The voucher system is going to make it even tougher on rural schools. Money sent straight to the parents to home school kids supposedly with no accountability. I guess we will “have to pass it so we can know what’s in it” I believe is the way Polosi worded it about  Obamacare.

I was looking something up on Jefferson on Texashighschoolfootballhistory.com. As I was scrolling down I came across the history of Karnack football. in 1984 they were outscored 405-8 in a 9 game season. Now, I'm sure that was six man football but just a crazy score differential. It has nothing to do with this thread but I saw it and remembered that you asked the question.
