Agree

Yeah, it's hard to picture that being very close. Similar to the title game against Anna last year, in my opinion. Celina is just as explosive on offense as Anna was, but the Bobcats have a better defense than the Coyotes had.

Ummmmmm NO, that's not even approaching possible no matter how many times you say it. Anna shut out the best offense in 4A last year IN the state championship game. Take the orange glasses off. WOW

Nope.  He is correct.  We played Anna last year.  We played Celina this year.  Celina's defense this year is much better than Anna's defense last year, and I'm not even sure it's close.

In fact I don't really think Anna had an elite defense last year.  Chapel Hill just laid an egg in the championship game.  The previous three games before the championship Decatur scored 27, Stephenville scored 21, and Panther Creek scored 38

Well a couple things here, Celina beat Anna last season and put up 42 points on that defense that the most explosive offense in 4A somehow couldn't crack. Now, looking at this year in relation to last year, Celina's offense has outpaced Anna's offense from a season ago, and the defense is outperforming Anna's defense last year by leaps and bounds, and against a better schedule. Also, I watched all those teams play last year, and I've seen them play this year so I'm not just speaking anecdotally.

I love the Bobcats, but most of my fellow Orange and White faithful will tell you how cautious I've been on this team all year even when they were saying after week one how different this team is. I wanted to see it before I believed it. And then once I saw it, I wanted to see it again. And again. And again. And again. And I've seen it nine times now (against some good teams and some bad teams) and I can tell you my objective opinion of this team is they are different.

Is Chapel Hill more explosive this year than they were a year ago? I haven't seen it. Even with Brisbon and Stewart healthy, which they haven't been much this year, I haven't seen it.

I actually think Stephenville and Celina are pretty similar. Both have big, bruising offensive lines. Both have a bevy of good receivers. Both have high-caliber RBs (although edge here goes to Celina who has 2 all-state guys). And both have elite-level QBs. Both teams also happen to have big, speedy, physical defenses.

That matchup was a bruiser a year ago, and I would expect it to be much the same this season, should both teams make it to that semifinal game.

The matchup a year ago the bobcats had a bunch of injuries. With that said this year‘s bobcat team is worlds better than last year‘s.

Yeah, QB1 could barely walk and didn't play later in the game, and RB1 didn't play at all. That was very tough.

OK, then it's all over then. Famous last words and we hear this EVERY year about Celina. ..... SMH. Long way to go.

🤣 THIs time! I'm just jaded because Celina folks say it every year. They may win it all, they're definitely very good! Noone is debating that.

As long it ain’t Kilgore then by all means!

Tcu tends to get carried away with that. He struggles with East Texas. Sorto like Cowboy for Christ with the Carthage folks . Difference is Cc not only thinks State championship but 4a and 5a crowns , Aledo & Alabama!

Celina O line

If you can’t stop their running attack, you cannot beat them. It is just that simple. That is why Kilgore is the only team I think has a defense in 4A DI that has a defense that can stop their run game. But can they score on Celinas D.

They're still way too 1 dimensional. Slow down the sweeps/powers and it's GeeGeez. Virtually nothing through the air

Ok I was going to say the bobcats can run and pass. I just realize they play Lake  Dallas tonight not tomorrow. any idea who the bobcats would play the first few rounds of the playoffs?

Yes, game got moved up because of potential storms tomorrow night.

First round will be Wilmer-Hutchins. Bobcats typically play a first-round Thursday night game, and I expect that to be the case next week.

Second round, in all likelihood, will be Kennedale or one of the Fort Worth schools. Most likely Kennedale. Wildcats opened the year with four straight losses to ... La Vega, Springtown, Aubrey and Panther Creek.

I'd be shocked if the Thanksgiving 3rd round isn't a rematch with Aubrey. I suppose it could be Decatur, but I don't think Aubrey will have much trouble in the first two rounds.

And actually, looking at the bracket, I don't know that Aubrey's first round is as much of a foregone conclusion as I thought. They'll draw Dallas Kimball, who has only two losses to Mansfield Timberview (20-6) and Midlothian (36-33). That might actually be a pretty good matchup.

I appreciate you giving Aubrey some credit—not many others have. People seem to overlook the fact that they beat Paris and Lake Dallas handily. Panther Creek and Aubrey are both capable of beating each other on any given night, but despite having multiple opportunities to close it out last week, Aubrey didn't make it happen.

Based solely on Decatur’s schedule and results, Decatur and Aubrey seem pretty comparable to me. And like you said, Kimball’s solid too.

Aubrey has weapons. They have a lot of weapons from what I saw, but weren't very efficient in getting the ball to those weapons. Celina had a lot to do with that, of course, but other teams have had less success in that regard. Aubrey probably had the best overall team speed of anyone in the district, in my opinion. Brown (I think is his last name) is an absolute burner. Probably THE fastest kid in the district.

The one thing that I think will keep Aubrey from really really threatening Celina is depth and defense. The Chaps didn't really have an answer for Celina's offense, and they had a few key guys going both ways for a lot of the game. You could see it in the second half.

The more I watch Kimball, the more I think that first-round game is going to be pretty exciting.

When Aubrey has a speed advantage and their opponent does not have an advantage in the trenches, Aubrey is able to exploit their advantage strongly.

Oh yeah, Brown might be one of the fastest kids in the state - 200m state champion as a junior, and I heard that at the regional track meet last year his time was good enough for 1st place in 6A. It’s very frustrating that they won’t toss him a quick pitch, but I assume they are trying to protect his future in track.
