Pine Tree and Kilgore will be good venues . Can’t speak for the others!

Any idea who Celina will play in the first round? I have a feeling in the first few rounds it will probably be a cakewalk but at the same time I’m just not sure there’s any team that can really beat them this year. I feel like they’re on a level above everybody else, but we will soon find out.

I would like that for all schools levels pending on traveling.... gives extra push for the top 2 spots in district

Me too ! At least give them an option for another home stadium if their venue wasn’t up to par! Ex: Carlisle playing in Henderson or at West Rusk for their home game! Most schools wouldn’t really have that problem and gives an incentive for top two!

I think Celina will play Wilmer Hutchins in the first round and probably Kennedale in the second round. Not sure either one of those teams could beat Community, so yeah they will be cakewalks. Neither of those teams could finish in the top 6 of district 7.

Third round would be either Decatur or a rematch with Aubrey.

Fourth round will probably be Alvarado, Sulphur Springs, or Panther Creek.

Fifth round would be Stephenville.

Then state championship you’re looking at Kilgore, LBJ,  or maybe Bay City or Davenport. Not sure who else would be in the picture for regions 3 and 4.

This seems hard to believe. Who in their right mind agrees to this other than the top 2 seeds.

Has to be agreed upon before the season begins...lot of teams probably think this makes sense and think they have a legitimate shot of being one of those top two seeds.

What a stupid decision if it is true. …… SMH

I disagree honestly. I think its a great idea...the venues in R1 are limited because so many teams are in playoffs and I think it makes finishing 1 or 2 special. 5A and 6A have been doing it this way for years and I think eventually 4A will adopt this as a rule for everyone as well.

A few years ago our Eagles benefitted from it when they played (and beat) Montgomery in a Bi-District game where Montgomery had to travel to Eagle Stadium.

The only truly “neutral” site for these districts is Lufkin. And there was a good chance Lufkin would have a home playoff game on Friday (which turned out to be true). So that’s probably the reasoning. Would rather try to get a top seed and play at home, than play a playoff game in Jasper like we did a few years ago. No offense to Jasper, just saying.

I see both sides & understand your point.

I totally understand both sides. Just feel like we give up a huge neutral site advantage as we travel so well. Neutral site is basically a home game for us.

If you really think about it your first playoff game is at home, (Friday night)
