BarryLaverty
Was a little amazed at the Muslim Americans who didn't vote for VP Harris, out of anger over our support of Israel. Trump and 'conservatives' don't even recognize Palestinians as actually existing as people in search of their own space.

Texas was supposed to turn purple and he won by 13 points. Folks are tired of it. I mean really, you want to be called a pedophile or baby killer because of your political views? I would call you that. So we differ on some things. Doesn’t mean I’m a storm trooper.

I was responding to Kirt's kind words that those who oppose his views need to sit quiet or be dealt with...that isn't going to happen. And, while you may not call me those names, I can name 10 others on here who have done so on a regular basis to further their political support of MAGA. You know that, right? Some look better now than when they first started. Maybe it’s the resources at their disposal. Something is bizarre in that world. These P Diddy freak offs come to mind. He’s not in jail for gay sex. That’s not illegal anymore. Something more sinister is on film.

They are in search of Israel's space. And they refuse to accept any deal put before them that leaves Israel as a nation. And oddly enough, no other Muslim nation seems to want them to come to town either.

Well, they are really not in search of Israel's space, but more wanting their space back. In reality, Israel established a kingdom as stated below, but hadn't been in control of that land for more than 2500 years. Until the United Nations decided to give it to them. So not to justify what the terrorists are doing, but how the Palestinians should feel, if the government of the US came and decided to take your property and give it to some other nation, wouldn't you put up a fight also? Just saying, it's not just Israel's space, especially for 2500 years...... https://www.historyskills.com/classroom/modern-history/formation-of-modern-israel-reading/ The roots of modern Israel can be traced back to ancient times when the Israelites established a united kingdom under King Saul around 1020 BCE. By 722 BCE, the Assyrians had conquered the northern kingdom, dispersing its inhabitants. The southern kingdom of Judah managed to persist until 586 BCE when the Babylonians, under King Nebuchadnezzar II, captured Jerusalem and destroyed the First Temple, initiating the Babylonian Exile. Theodor Herzl, an Austro-Hungarian journalist, is often credited as the father of modern political Zionism. Disturbed by the anti-Semitism he witnessed, including the infamous Dreyfus Affair in France, Herzl concluded that assimilation was not the answer. In his groundbreaking work, Der Judenstaat (The Jewish State) published in 1896, Herzl articulated the idea that Jews should establish their own state. The British Mandate of Palestine, spanning from 1920 to 1948, was a pivotal period that significantly influenced the course of Middle Eastern history. Following the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in World War I, the League of Nations granted Britain the mandate to administer the territory of Palestine. This mandate was officially confirmed in July 1922 and came into effect in September 1923. The foundation for British involvement in Palestine was laid with the Balfour Declaration of 1917. In this declaration, Arthur James Balfour, the British Foreign Secretary, expressed the British government's support for "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people." However, the declaration also stipulated that the rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine should not be prejudiced. The Holocaust had profound implications for the post-war world. The urgent need to address the plight of Jewish survivors, many of whom were displaced and stateless, became a pressing issue. The revelations of the Holocaust intensified global sympathy for Jewish refugees and bolstered the case for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. By the mid-1940s, the British found themselves in an increasingly untenable position in Palestine. Given the complexities and the escalating tensions, Britain decided to refer the issue to the United Nations in 1947. On November 29, 1947, the UN General Assembly voted on the partition plan. It was approved with 33 votes in favor, 13 against, and 10 abstentions. The declaration of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948, was a momentous event, marking the culmination of decades of Jewish nationalist aspirations and the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Arabs, which includes the palestinians, owned the land. In the article it talks about Jewish leaders purchasing large areas of land prior to world war 2. The United Nations forced the world to provide Israel a country, and that’s okay. But they have to understand that not everyone thinks like the US and Europe. Now that they have their own country, it is their right to defend it. But we also need to understand as a society how that area got to where they are. It wasn’t a bed of roses and then terrorists just decided they hated the Jews. The world/United Nations provided some of the problems in this area. Would one of the half dozen or so proposals made to the Palestinian people have sufficed, or are you a "from the river to the sea" kind of guy? I am simply stating that the palestinian people have land. They have the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. They have been presented with many offers to stop the violence and live in peace, but their goal is 100% removal of the Israelies. There's no satiating their bloodlust. They didn't own it before the 1940's. IT was under British Control.

What has been done is the United Nations gave a parcel of land to the Jewish state, and since 1948 they have been battling to keep it. The Arabs can should look for a 2 state peace, but they also, like in this country, have allowed the radicals to control their government. And with those elected officials, you get radical ideas and motivates. I wasn't around in the 1940s to make suggestions, and understanding the situation of those times, they might have should placed the Jewish state somewhere else, but I am sure the Jewish people wanted to be near their homeland, making anything the United Nations did, a serious problem, which still exists today, which costs us, because we loan and send them so much money and defense systems.
