Now we know who to vote out next, that's all. R's didn't vote for D representation. At. All. None. They're entitled to the power they've earned, which is none.

To go along with the GOP members that do NOT like the radicalism of some of the political leaders of the right, they won the majority to have the house speaker. I guess acting like a "hitler" doesn't get you as far in Texas as it use to.

DAWG91 Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 Here's a list how they voted. You know what to do if your R rep voted for the democrats. https://www.newsfromthestates.com/article/see-how-texas-house-members-voted-speaker-race

So you're saying that head politicians threatening elected politicians to vote a certain way isn't hitler like. Amazing just how TOO FAR RIGHT some have gone. What happened to decent common sense. 1
RETIREDFAN1 Posted January 14 Posted January 14 @DannyZuco is a closet liberal trying to pass as conservative......prove me wrong......

And so everyone that listens to Ken Paxton and Dan Gotlieb threaten elected officials about who they should vote for, isn't hitler like? please, the GOP in most counties is actually the lesser of 2 evils in Texas, and they are about to go the way of the "dodo", because they have radicalized themselves too far. 17 minutes ago, RETIREDFAN1 said: @DannyZuco is a closet liberal trying to pass as conservative......prove me wrong...... I have never said I was a conservative, I have prior to this stated that I am socially a moderate and fiscally a conservative. Therefore, it IS LIBERAL to want to take TAXPAYER funds and give them away to people in the form of a voucher, money they did NOT earn, and calling it school choice, when you know as a former educator, that ALL STUDENTS already have school choice. A conservative, which I have been calling for, would end property taxes, or allow people to take their property taxes and place it in an Education Savings Account that would allow them to keep the money there for their child's compete education, including college, and further. Liberals just want to give away money. Which are you?

I can tell by how fast you started talking about Hitler you're in for a rude awakening. Lesser of 2 evils? TX is deep red. We determined the lesser of evil decades ago. We know the score, and the real "dodo's" will wind up where most of them did last time around, a defeat handed to them by their constituents. Entrenched corruption is entrenched. No bag limit.

Entrenched corruption is entrenched. No bag limit. And you sit there on your high horse and tell me about corruption....when our leaders today--Abbott, Gotleib, Paxton are trying give away our sales tax money in the form of a "pay for vote"--they took that page right out of the Joe Biden playbook. Instead of governing like you care about people, the GOP in Texas is taking a hard line, which in the end will allow for more moderates to become what ya'll call liberals and then ya'll will be whining like you did from the Civil War until the 1990s. And again, it's not about governing when it comes to elections, it's about the money promised to people. And the far right promised a school voucher with tax payer funds, but for only those who have kids in schools. It doesn't solve the problem of education, it just places more people in homeschool which makes for a more complete society of idocracy......SMH. 1
DAWG91 Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 Who's done more whining about Tx governance lately? Me or you? It's ok man. Let majority and reality rule. R's don't want to be governed by D's or their lackeys. Just like last go-around, you'll see. 1

So what you are saying @DAWG91 is that everything I have said is not true......Paxton and Gotlieb didn't threaten elected officials with a vote for speaker. That the GOP doesn't want to give vouchers, with taxpayer funds to people at $8000 a clip, for school choice. That money doesn't make a win for elections. Wow, and you think I am out of touch.

The rules for speaker were voted on at the convention. If they don't want to play by the rules established by the party and it's members, they're free to switch to D's where you can make up the rules as you go along. I'm not engaging in the school debate anymore. We settled that at the ballot box last go-around. We'll root out more RINO frauds this time. Edited January 15 by DAWG91 1 1

You won’t debate it because you know that it makes you a liberal for handing out money on a social welfare program, the way Abbott wants to do it. A real conservative would be calling for an end to property taxes payments to school districts and the state. And allowing property owners to use that money for their “fake” school choice. And let’s be real honest, how many people are really going to choose Colmesneil to send their kids to school. There isn’t a NIL in the high schools yet. Heck, outside of Huntington and Hudson, nobody would be sending their kids to Lufkin either with school choice.
