Guest TtownEagle803
The returning 3A DII state champion Tatum Eagles dropping down to 2A would certainly be the favorite in a lot of people's eyes. Who has a legit shot at the bullseye that the green Eagles carry on there back?
OneTimer
No one, Tatum walks away with another ring.
KirtFalcon
The biggest power shift in AA will be Celina moving back to AAA. They would have beaten ANYONE in AAA or AA last season!
eagle9166
yup in your dreams the last time they were in 3-a they started basketball season early, falcon
KirtFalcon
I don't believe you are correct there eagle, the last time Celina was in AAA, they were a top 10 team and went pretty far into the playoffs. The team they had last season was the strongest team they have ever had according their own assessments. They would have won either division of AAA last season.
canes1
Easy there FACON you might want to report back to the nest before making predictions like that. COME ON SEPTEMBER

Big corn fed boys that play hard nosed football. Where did that get Hutto?? Left in the dust because they couldn't keep up with the blazing speed of our skill position players. I for one dont think Celina could have beaten either Wimberly or Tatum last year, but everyone has their opinion.
Guest TtownEagle803
Judging from all of the talent that Tatum has returning, I'm definitly going to say that I think Tatum will bring home another ring this year but anything can happen, thats why they play the game. I think some of the other powerhouses that oppose threats are teams like........ Marlin Daingerfield Jefferson New Boston Newton

I'm really not a Celina fan, as a matter of fact I dislike them with a passion, but you've got to be kidding me and you couldn't have seen them play last season to make those ridiculous remarks. Celina had plenty of speed to go along with a lot of strength and size. I saw Tatum and Celina twice each last season and I don't think Tatum would have been much of a match for them. :w00t:
Guest TtownEagle803
I aint gonna argue witcha...no matter what you'll believe what you want and I'll believe what I want. So its kind of a dead issue. We'll see what they are made of this year in the 3a ranks. But your team is in our district and I don't really know too much about the teams in it other than the fact that yall won state in 03 and Troup won state in 04. Who else are contenders?? I_LIVE_FOR_FRIDAY
Celina was very tough last year...one of the best teams ive ever seen! Im not saying a blowout between Tatum and Celina last year but i think Celina's mentality and ability to win games late pushes them ahead of tatum last year. but a great game...i would have liked to have seen it happen...i think that Tatum will have the best chance to win state this year with all the talent they have coming back but i think there are a few teams that could hurt them if they are not careful. newton and New boston, being two in mind. not to mention that Troup Garrison and Waskom are capable of a upset within Taums district... im-a-trapster
hope tatum doesnt come out thinkin they are gonna just murder everybody. they might get their feelings hurt. but they are my pick for the title
LoydBanks
Dangerfield, Jefferson, New Boston and Tatum all should be the favorites!! it is between them and a few from 2A last year that have a shot i think are Newton and Paul Pewitt if they can get it going
Guest TtownEagle803
I wonder what the preseason polls will look like, I bet quite a few of the top 20 in 2A are from East Texas.
brahma4life
I would guess that as many as 7 teams from East TX will start the year off in the top 10. 1. Pewitt 2. Daingerfield 3. New Boston 4. Tatum 5. Garrison 6. Newton 7. Jefferson These are not in any particular order. Just guesses on my part. I think Newton and Tatum will be the game of the year in D1 and still think Pewitt and Daingerfield will hook up for the 2nd time in the playoffs for the honor of playing Childress in the D2 championship game.;)
Guest TtownEagle803
I'd say Tatum, Daingerfield, Jefferson, New Boston, Pewitt, Garrison, Newton, EF, Troup, and Arp all have a shot to be in the top 20. I know Marlin will be in the top 5, them boys were rowdy in 3A.
brahma4life
After seeing the size of Childress and the ability of their QB I think they will also be highly ranked. I admit Pewitt is unproven we will have to mature in a hurry. Tatum and D'field will certainly be the favorites to win the trophies, with Newton breathing down their necks. 2A is not the classification to be in next year it is going to be tough.

The last time Celina was in 3A they were beaten out in the second round both years by Daingerfield and Gilmer. I wouldn't call the second round pretty far. boneshaker
Newton will more than likely be div 2 next year. NBhardhitta757
New Boston will be a powerhouse in 2A and we prally could beat anybody wit the talent we got comin back and we might have lost to tatum last yr but it's a whole new ball game boys!!! So we get the kids halfway to Kilgore, halfway to L-view, halfway to Beckville, halfway to Marshall, and halfway to Henderson. I guess you could say our school district covers more ground than most smaller towns do. But I don't know how Redman comes out sayin we recruit the L-view and Marshall areas. We just have a lot of talent in this area.
