Tatum was just way too much for Garrison. Although, Garrison's running game had some shining moments...it just wasn't enough to outscore Tatum. They turned the ball over atleast 6 maybe 7 times. Lennon Creer acted up and posted several 30+ yard runs. He also added an INT and a fumble recovery. Darnius Moore had an INT return for 98 yards.Garrison's running attack took quite a bit of time off of the clock during the first half, but couldnt do anything at all in the 2nd half. Their QB was pretty decent and they had a decent RB. I think they might, and I mean "might" compete against Arp for that 3rd playoff spot. Good luck next week dawgs.

TTownEagle I would say that Garrison's running game had more than just shining moments and as you stated take away the 6 or 7 turnovers and it could have been closer. The decent qb that you are talking about played hurt after the 1st quarter. I must hand it to you guys though you talk as much trash on here as you do play dirty football, by the way how many personal fouls did Tatum have....need I say more!!!!

Yeah, that would be great, only one problem though, you cant take those 6 or 7 tunrovers away though. And dont give me that it coulda been a close game speech. Tatum dominated the game. Need you say more????.....You dont need to say anything if you dont want to....61-18 says it all.

Garrison was the ones playing dirty. Garrison would take a cheap shot or late hit and when Tatum retaliated, they got called for it. Sorry to say it, but those Garrison boys had terrible attitudes but Tatum gave them an attitude ajustment.

:D TtownEagle is right, they had a few, and I mean a few shining moments. I think Tatum punted 2 times. Even without the turnovers, it would have been 4 and out for Garrison. Don't be mad or upset though, it's tough to beat the best.

When you lose by 43, whatever shine or sparkle you have is just dim as far as I'm concerned. Now Lennon Creer shined ALL NIGHT LONG, as well as the rest of the Eagles. I was trying to give ya'll some credit, cuz ya'll arent a bad football team, just a very small football team. But you gotta try to point anything you can out to make it look like yall could run with us. As far as the personal fouls....our guys could have conducter themselves a little better, but what do you expect when you keep catching cheap shots after the whistle is blown? Yeah...its a 15-18 year old's nature to dish back what they are receiving. Dont act like we were the only ones getting squirrly....ya'lls guys were actin up a little bit too. But 9 weeks from now when we are heading to playoffs....the only memory of this game will be the score. Congrats on the running game....like I said it had "some" shining moments, and good luck the rest of the way.

Garrison just don't have the weapons. They have maybe 3 or 4 athletes. Tatum is fully loaded. Speakin of ya'lls qb, I thought it was mighty stupid to keep him in the game and risk serious injury when ya'll were going to lose anyway. Put the kid on the side-line and get him ready to make a run against the rest of the district. If ya'll lose him, you might lose most of district ( being he's 1 of just a few of the athletes yall have). Good luck in district, I would just play smarter.

Tatum is truly loaded with talent and it showed last night. I would love to see a Tatum Newton game, but they may wind up in different divisions in the playoffs. Newton gave Carthage all they wanted last night.

Garrison was outmatched against Tatum, no doubt, but to anyone not actually seeing the game 61 - 18 doesn't give justice to the fight Garrison put up. The score could have been a little closer had Garrison finished off any of the three drives they had the ball deep in Tatum territory. Garrison should have at least scored a couple more times. I think it's important to note that Garrison did score 3 TDs in the 1st half against Tatum. , not late in the game. I was surprised Garrison's offense moved the ball as well as they did against a tough Tatum defense. Garrison's "limping" QB really limited them on offense but the kid played a heck of a game. I agree, the coach probably should have taken him out, or at least sent the plays in with a WR instead of having him "hop" over to the sidelines and back to get the plays. I think they snapped the ball with 1 or 2 seconds left on the playclock every play! Ridiculous!

I wouldn't worry too much about Garrison's chances against Troup and Arp. Garrison is at least as good overall as last season . . better at QB in my opinion , , , and they did beat Troup last year in the playoffs.

Good luck to Tatum the rest of the way.

Yeah...I wouldnt have put anymore stress on the QBs leg than I had to if i was the coach....but I'm not the coach. Despite him being injured...he still played a hell of a game. That kid is a dang good football player. Garrison's running game could take them to the playoffs....the only problem is depth. Exactly how many kids do they field??? I didnt count but it couldnt be much over 20. I think we had about 2 times the kids suited up as they did, for real, we field 41 players. I see Garrison and their running attack taking out Arp for the 3rd playoff spot. I dont think they'll beat Troup...They let Lennon run all over them...i see the same happening for Davis from Troup.

Being the defending champs, everyone is gunning for you. You want your team to be the one that beats the defending champs. All I can say is that the teams in the district better come mentally ready. If Troup keeps their mistakes to 1 or 2, the might can hang for the first half. The 2nd half, Troup will be lookin at nothin but TAIL-FEATHERS.... LOL

I just want to say that Garrison rolled up like 340 yards to Tatum's 280 that is why I was saying more than just a few shining moments. Tatum has got more team speed than I have ever seen. I would say what they have more than talent, is speed, speed, and more speed not saying they don't have talent just unbelievable speed. I have to agree with taking out the qb when he was hurt in the first quarter. Not saying that Garrison could have won just think the score might have been a little less lopsided. Tatum only scored one offensive touchdown in then second half the rest came on defense, because the qb could not scramble and would just throw up the ball and was intercepted like 4 times. Tatum is good and I was not saying that they were not by any means. I think if Garrison gets their qb well they will give the rest of the district a run for their money and maybe come out in second, right behind Tatum.

A program like Garrisons' is just not used to getting spanked and having 61 points tallied against them. They will bounce back and make the playoffs though. Tradition is a hard thing to beat....unless you play Tatum who has just as much. Good luck to both teams and continue to make East Texas proud!

scd, I agree with you. Garrison with a healthy #10 qb could make a good run in district. I just don't know if they can stop Troup's runnin game. Garrison needs to be a little more strategic. To leave #10 in the game for so long ( after it got lopsided ) was just silly. I understand the kid has heart, but ya gotta have brains too. I wouldn't have risked further injury and a college career ( due to injury ) for 1 game. Ya'll do have a tough team. Keep playin hard and you might get a spot. Good Luck Bulldogs

Troup is not just a one half team..they grind it for 4 quarters every game.

340 yards???? Maybe the JV and the Varsity combined for 340 yards. Regardless of how many yards we had.....we scored 61. You can say that minus the turnovers it woulda been a closer game....but you cant take the turnovers away. And really....without a defense on the field....the tunrovers wouldnt have happened. Defenses cause turnovers...ya know, defenders...LBs blitzing....hard hits to create fumbles. You can say your team made mistakes.....but our defense created the turnovers.....thats why Tatum's defense aint no joke.....cuz they create TURNOVERS.....welcome to disaster....a "3A" team playin 2A.

Didn't Troup have Davis last season? Garrison's defense won that matchup I believe without much trouble! There is a BIG difference between Tatum and Creer and Troup and Davis. I think Garrison will be physical enough to get the job done. I just hope Garrison has a healthy QB when they play.

Yeah there oh great tailfeather sniffer, Garrison had 340 yards of offense on yall's vicious defense and 17 first downs, compared to yall's 280 yards and 12 first downs, believe what you want but the stats don't lie and I know neither does the scoreboard and that is all that counts so congrats on your win, just come on back down to earth and realize that little ole Garrison ran the ball right down your throat!!!

Statistics can be very misleading scd708. The biggest reason Tatum didn't have that many 1st downs was because it didn't take them long to score. Their drives had a lot fewer plays because they were gaining a lot more yards on each play. I agree, the game was a lot closer than the score indicated, but don't think we "out gained" them based on stats. If you add in Tatum's defensive and special teams yards gained, it is really lop sided in their favor. Just a little reality for ya! :w00t:

I wouldnt exactly call that running it down our throat. I'd call it a pretty good running game that could quite possibly get you into the playoffs though. And those stats really arent a reflction of the game.....we only punted twice. Had several big kick returns...a couple of long INT and fumble returns for TDs. Garrison is a pretty good 2A squad, I just hope ya'lls QB and RBs can stay healthy cuz depth will be the biggest issue for yall.
