Being a huge High School football fan, I love the games at Texas Stadium when there are 3 games in one day....Its great to stay all day and watch all the games....But in my opinion Memorial is one of the nicest stadiums in Texas for High School football....And In East Texas nothing beats Sam Parker, Mt. Pleasant makes a ton of $$$$$ from that stadium....

Slikk said it best...Texas Stadium because you can watch 3 or 4 game in one day. The only problem with Texas Stadium is that when it's hot, it's real hot. And when it's cold, you freeze to death. There is no "in between" in that stadium.

I would like for UT to open up DK Royal Memorial Stadium for the state championship games and have all of them there. I'm sure having natural surface is why they don't.

Sam Parker is the best, at least for me locally. Both stands are built up, there's relatively close parking, all that.

T.A. Cotton is great if you're on the home side. I don't know why they just didn't go ahead and build the visiting bleachers underground ; or better yet, blow them up and just stick a few lawn chairs out.

Tyler Rose was okay, except for the fact that when I went there for a playoff game last year I had to park in an unlit ditch I think somewhere in Arkansas. But other than that, wow, nice field, good little power walk to the stadium, I could sure feel the burn.

A triple header at Texas Stadium is great if you live near it. Otherwise the games better be really compelling and competitive to justify the trip. Unfortunately in my experience, they are typically the former (it is playoff football after all) but not often enough the latter.

Concessions are a major ripoff, but you have to have an iron constitution to sit through that many games without giving in to hunger.

I really like Rose Stadium now, but I wish they would update the press box and a new score board with a JUMBO TRON! That would make this stadium great!

I like Texas Stadium, but it is much higher and the food is ridiculously priced. Besides I would rather see the money spent on concessions go to the school booster’s instead of Jerry Jones pocket.

Texas Stadium has to be the most miserable. Waco ISD is okay. I loved Floyd Casey Stadium.

I liked Waco ISD, though, it was really windy. Texas Stadium was neat to play in. FCS holds a lotta memories.. !

  • 9 years later...

I know everyone loves the climate control and the fancy digs of the mega stadiums. We went many years at a neutral site decided by the competeing schools. Those were the days IMO. If u were in the championship game you got past the weather. I do love the live coverage. For sure couldn't make

All the games back then. I admit I am soft

Mesquite Memorial was nice for me as an athletic trainer... Hate Rose Stadium for what I needed... If I were a smaller school, I really like Lobo Stadium, and Marshall's would/will be better if they ever get a visitor locker room on the other side of the stadium.
