TexasGolfCoach
Troup and Tatum have both proved they are beatable, within their own district!! They are both great teams, but that vulnerability within their own district will probably keep them from running the table. Plus, I don't think they can beat Pewitt or New Boston. Hooks blew EF out early in the year, so I wonder how strong the district is overall---still good, but not unbelievably dominant as everyone has barked about since day one. My hats off to EF--they must have turned things around. Just my opinion......I hope we get a state championship from Troup, Tatum, Pewitt, or New Boston---it represents East Texas well!! I also hope we bring something home from East Texas! although I would prefer a 19AA sweep! To say Troup and Tatum will bring it home is a bold statement no doubt, but they ARE very good teams and this district IS better than some may think. The L's in the Troup and Tatum columns, in my opinion, do not reflect how great they really are. Take the 04' Troup team for example. They got beat by Elysian Fields (Who I think was ousted 1st or 2nd round) in district play and went on to the state finals. That was the same team that beat the bad boy Brahmas with Jesse and Taric (juniors at the time, but still tough players). Maybe they got a better draw. Maybe they played weak teams until the finals. Who knows. My point is these two teams are better than their records show. I don't want to keep harping on this as it sounds like an excuse, but Troup did have a horrible game against EF. Maybe it was because EF took them out of their game, maybe not. Being a homer I will have to vote for the off night "excuse". I feel this years Troup team is a better rounded team than in 04'. Based on that, I feel the statement thay can win state is true. Unfortunately, only time will tell!
one4all
EF is now a different team than the one that played Hooks. Different stronger offense with a talented QB and the defense has got it act together. They know they can stop players like Davis. When they played Hooks they were not ready and did not have the confidence. Look out now.
EFSTING
Yeah, and Curry did not start, and I'm guessing EF had a bad night too, when they lost to QC and Hooks, and the bottom line is that Troup got beat.

EverWatching
The AA championship will come to east Texas this year...we just have way to many good teams for it not to...should be a very interesting playoffs..right now its still kind of shaky to make a prediction...i know i know...we are nearing the end of the regular season..but osme of the teams have yet to find the inner team that lies in all of them...I think personally Tatum will bring it home...they keep their heads up and their players keep stepping up into leadership roles....they should do fine... SL1KK
don't count out any teams from the 17-2A district...any of the 3 playoff teams could be rolling deep into the playoffs, and as we have already seen from some of these district upsets....Any and everynight could be shocking
Tatum_DirtyBird
Regardless of which team it is, I think it WILL be an East Texas team that brings it home. I'm still hoping for 2 teams in 1 certain district to do it..... lol
sackem
Didn't San Augustine and Garrison win it all one year when they were both from the same district. What about Tenaha and ? winning it from the same district. Stick to Golf

TheNatureBoy16times
Tatum will win the state championship. When it is playoff time, the Eagles will not lapse like they did against Troup.
