OBTS
After watching some of the racing Saturday night, it looks like this car is still every bit as much of a handful to drive as it ever was. If NASCAR has 25 out of 36 parades this year like last year, they can kiss me as a fan good bye until they make changes to the rules/car that will allow more than 8-10 drivers to be competitive. They could solve the problem by changing the 3400# requirement to 3800#. The added weight would slow the cars down, but give them the handling (downforce) they need to keep from sliding in the front and to hook up the rear tires when they get back in the gas. CAPTTIGER
I am hoping some the ill-handling was due to the set up. The race was only 70 laps as apposed to the 200 on Sunday. I am hoping those guys set them up on the ragged edge knowing it was a short shoot out. We will know more on Thursday during the duals.
BGR
I hate it when they call the race for rain. I didn't watch the rain delay broadcast so exactly what happened? The rain didn't look that heavy when I was watching and it was supposed to be scattered showers. Did it start pouring down? Hated to see a Ford in victory lane. Better than a Toyota though... Anyone else notice the lovefest NASCAR seems to be having with Kyle Bush this year? Every other story was on Ky. Bush and how wonderful he is. Ugh. Maybe they are trying to turn his image like they tried on Tony Stewart a couple of years ago. Next thing he will be filmed helping old ladies cross the speedway and rescuing kittens from the nose bleed sections. Just let him be. If he wants to be a punk... let him be a punk. He shows real emotion and isn't afraid to ruffle the feathers of the big names in the sport. NASCAR is too PC, those few that will speak their minds freely are fewer and fewer. The racing was better this year, still not as good as it should be. They seem to be able to make moves better and pass more. The handling is still questionable. Guest bleeds
The track seemed be in really bad shape. Those cars were bouncing the whole way around, especially on the backstretch.
CAPTTIGER
After the 2010 races, including the July race, look for a new surface to be laid down at Daytona. A little grinding between now and then would be nice though.
