Bballer073001
Which big name do you think will not be in the top 35. I think Mark Martin and ryan newman will not be in top

Loftin74
I'm going to go ahead and throw these two names into the group of people who wont make the top 35. Joey Logano and Aric Almirola. I am so sick of hearing about how "good" Logano has been performing this season. He has done NOTHING!!!!! I love watching the races, seeing the guy 2 or 3 laps down, and then hearing the commentators say he is doing a great job. I miss the days when rookies actually contended for wins. (Jr, Kenseth, Newman, Montoya, and Stewart for examples) Martin and Newman WILL make the top 35.
USNDocOfMarines
Don't count ole Mark Martin out just yet. I think he has a good chance of winning at Bristol - or at least a solid top 5 finish. But I think we will see Ryan Newman, Bobby Labonte, and Elliot Sadler drop out of the top 35.
Bballer073001
Not counting Martin out its goin to be tough for him. I also am tired of the logano talk. I just hope that my driver keeps it going (M.Waltrip)He has started out good but needs to get his mile and half program better if he wants to finish in the top 20 and maybe win a race. BGR
Martin and Newman are starting on the front row at Bristol so they are in good shape to possibly have a good finish and stay in the top 35. Both have been a somewhat "snake bit" this season and have struggled. I think Martin will make it into the top 35 but Newman will be outside looking in. Good thing Newman is such a great qualifier. The NASCAR love fest for Joey "over-rated" Logano is tiresome just as the attempt to turn Kyle Busch into a "good guy" with all their talking heads professing heaps of man-love for him. Notice they are both JGR drivers... I think that is where the true love fest is. NASCAR loves them some JGR.

Forget the fact that Hendrix has a 2 drivers who have combined to win 8 championships (including the last 3), as well as Dale Jr. and Mark Martin and that these drivers all together have won 174 races. Forget the fact that Roush has 5 drivers who have combined to win 48 races. Forget the fact that RCR has 4 drivers who have won a combined 34 races. Lets also forget the fact that JGR has another driver which you never hear anything about anymore......Denny Hamlin.....a 4 time winner. Lets all just focus on 2 guys.........only one of which has won a race (12 of them)..................and lets mainly focus on the one who finished 11th in points last year. I remember several times before the chase began last year how they said they should pretty much give the championship to Bush................IT HAS ALREADY STARTED AGAIN THIS SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even ole' DW is on the bandwagon. Heck just yesterday he said that winning races is the mark of a champion.............I hate to disagree, but winning championships is what a champion is made of. Kyle Bush will not be viewed as a "good guy" for a long time because of how he acts (most notably last season), and Logano hasn't shown that he can be the least bit competitive at this level. USNDocOfMarines
Give Joey Logano a break - the kid is only 18. Give him some time to blossom. I think he will be a great driver in the future, but for now he just needs to get in there and get some lap experience. As far as Kyle Busch goes... I hate this guy with a passion, he is so self centered its not even funny. What a huge punk. In my opinion he doesn't hold any of the characteristics of a True Nascar driver. Sure the guy can drive, but it takes alot more to be liked in this sport. Its a little thing called Respect for other Drivers and the fans. The reason so many people love Nascar is because most of the drivers are people just like you and me, except they climb in a racecar every Sunday and make alot of money. Kyle Busch is an :censored: hole!

Kyle Busch is an :censored: hole! One thing I didn't mention about JGR is it is the Flag Ship for Toyota, another reason for NASCAR's lovefest with that team. The problem I have with Logano is the NASCAR lovefest for him, not him, his driving ability or his personality. He should do well over time but I am tired of hearing how good he is at every race while running in the bottom of the field and clinging desperately to stay in the top 35. Kyle Busch is probably the best pure driver today. Hands down. He is a punk and says what he thinks. Just like Tony Stewart used to, until he became a team owner. I hate the way NASCAR keeps trying to position Kyle in the good guy role. He is a punk but that is his true nature. People will either hate him or love him. The characteristics of a true NASCAR driver can be a wide range... for example Dale Earnhardt compared to Mark Martin. Both would be called true NASCAR drivers but they are/were extremely different in their driving style and attitudes. Kyle Busch would fall closer to Dale Earnhardt's type. Earnhardt would say what he thought, no matter who he offended and he would wreck his fellow driver, in a heart beat, to win the race. A what-ever-it-takes type of driving style. So I would say Kyle Busch does possess the characteristics of a NASCAR driver, just the Dale Earnhardt type of driver. The bad boy behind the wheel such as Dale Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace, Tony Stewart, etc... Just leave him be and let him drive while being himself not who NASCAR portrays him to be. Very few of the drivers are still the "good ole boy" type, most are the corporate image, silver spoon types. Jeff Gordon was viewed as the true original silver spoon type, even though he came into NASCAR by working his way up the ranks. Dale Jr. is also one, many would disagree with that. Both came into the sport and went into great rides because of their ability or family name of Earnhardt. Didn't hurt that Jr. drove for his dad's race team. Not the same NASCAR it used to be, a little to PC now. I still love it though. Jeff Gordon is my favorite driver and Hendrick my favorite race team. I also root for the underdogs that are not with top teams especially the underfunded types.
BGR
On to Martinsville. I am really hoping to see the 24 back in victory lane soon. They are so close and performing so well. The 24 pit crew was exceptional at Bristol gaining spots on almost every pit stop. Love Martinsville and its hard, close quarter racing.
