Would Hicks sell to Ryan?

I heard Nolan Ryan in an interview on the Ticket in Dallas yesterday say that if Hicks was to put majority ownership up for sale he would be interested, going onto say he wants to own a major league franchise and the Rangers or Astros are the only two he's interested in. So how about it? Hicks is already seeking minority investers, think he'd relenquish the reigns to the Express and make Rangers Nation happy?

First off would that make the nation happy ? Secondly I don't think that would be on the horizon. Stranger things have happened here in Ranger Town.

Ryan being the "All-Time Fan Favorite". Why not........it only took 51 wins by Ryan to have a statue erected out in centerfield sorta in "Statue of Arlington" fashion. One would think maybe Fergie Jenkins or Charlie Hough or maybe even David Clyde might have some mention in the fanfare but fans are not always fair or logical or influential enough to get big things done. Not even a former owner swung that kind of weight.

This deal will be very politically weighted down and many deals will be made before this is over. :texrangers: need a franchise face to make them respectful and so I guess the number one man will be ol' Nolan.

First of all, Ryan having a statue has nothing to do with it to me. Ryan being a baseball man/business man instead of just a business man like Hicks is the point. Unfortunalty, just like his new neighbor up the road, I think Hicks is holding this franchise down. Yes there are other issues, no doubt about it, but to me the change needs to start at the top. Ryans knowledge and desire to win seem to me to be a good fit.

I had no idea Nolan had that kind of coin honestly? Does anyone know how he did it? He didn't do it on strictly baseball earnings did he? surely not

Fix it with Olshan and fix it for good. :coolio:

You're not a member of the Ranger's Nation though, right?

He wants to be now that StayRod has been exposed for the phony most of new he was. Leave the darkside Mantle and join the Hope for the future. :texrangers:

Wow way to interject ur annual Nolan Ryan is not all that blah blah blah in a thread that had really nothing to do with his playing days with the Rangers or any one else
