2025 Bayou Bowl Game Announcement

the City Of Mont Belvieu, Texas.
The game will be played at Barbers Hill Stadium on
January 4th at 1:00 P.M.

Dear Coach,

I've been fortunate enough to have played the game of football in this state, and yes, before you smirk, many years ago (late-70's) at Universal City Randolph.

As a military brat, I played for three high schools in four years with my senior year being in north San Antonio at Randolph High.

I loved the "Ro-Hawks" tradition and history. The program had one coach for nearly three decades, Bob Mickler, Sr.

"Mt. Vernon ISD is excited to announce the hiring of Travis McClain as the new Athletic Director/Head Coach for the Mt. Vernon Tigers. Coach McClain comes to Mt. Vernon after two years at Rivercrest ISD and 8 years at Celina ISD. He is a graduate of Baylor University. Coach McClain will start immediately and is looking forward to jumping in and building connections and helping student-athletes thrive both on and off the field. Joining Coach McClain will be his wife Kelley, their daughters Laney and Parker Jane, and their son Callahan “Bo”. Welcome to Mt. Vernon. Go Tigers!"

According to multiple sources MV has hired former Rivercrest Ad/HFC and Celina OC / QB coach Travis McClain as AD/HFC -He will be begin his duties immediately.
