This was just varsity. Sorry for the miscommunication on that.
Still a really low number. Doesn’t mean MP can’t compete. But it definitely puts them behind the 8 ball for injuries or players playing both ways.
Until last season… it always was a broken record for MP. Play a great first half. Be competitive. But as fatigue started to set in during the second half… teams would pull away for a win. Always a depth issue. Not a lack of talent issue. Talent is there.
Scrimmage update from Dekalb
Controlled part - Winny 1 Dekalb 1
Live part - Dekalb 3 Winny 0
All in all it was a scrimmage. Thought DK looked good. They have some great athletes. Winny had some struggles but nothing that cant be worked out. Saw some good and some bad. Looking forward to the next one. Best part was nobody got hurt for the Raiders, unfortunately i believe a young man from DK appeared to have broken his arm hope hes okay.
Side note, Winny JV Red looked real good scoring 5-6 tds and throwing for probably 300+ yards. Going to be fun to watch them this year.

I wasn't overly impressed with either team. Gladewater breaking in a new offense and starting qb out it was about what I expected. Gilmore being ranked #2 didn't really look like it but it's just a scrimmage so there is still a lot to work on for both
Exactly, it’s just a scrimmage. You can look great in a scrimmage and turn out to be mediocre or look mediocre and turn out to be great. Some coaches will run more stuff while some coaches might run very limited stuff to see what his blocking looks like or see if his backs know their assignments or whatever it is they are looking for. Yeah I would rather my team dominate in a scrimmage but after the dust settles, it’s just a scrimmage. Lol
Well, how did everyone view their scrimmage this week? We're you looking better than last season in any places, looking quicker, maybe looking like the lines were bigger or stronger? Skills guys advancing their game? Qb play?

Would love to see Tatum vs Gilmer on the sked next realignment maybe. Give Keeling a few years to dig in.
Wouldn’t be good. They have 120 kids on the sidelines. As far as athletes yall might hang for a bit but the depth would wear y’all down.
Zipped thru it real quick this morning ....this is what I think it looked like
Controlled ... Jax 1 (long pass) and K-1; Backemups 0-0
Other ... Jax 2, K 2 (one a long run); Jax added FG
What I took away from it ... Between the tackles on both sides of the ball is not Jax strength yet
Turnover issues - Jax had three INT (at least one a potential pick-six) and one lost fumble; K had one Int
K's sophomore QB looked like he's picking this up pretty quick ...
Defense for both will need to improve ... which I expect they will ... Jax D showed a little more intensity than what I remember last year ...
All-in-all, it is too early to be making assumptions on either bunch ... I'm just glad Friday nights are back.
Doesn't look like many Jax fans made the trip.
Celina by a couple of scores.
