I spoke with Brett Ratliff this afternoon and he's been reassigned by the superintendent. Obviously, he was disappointed, but he understands the business.
He will remain as the AD until New Diana I.S.D. hires a new head football coach.
Ratilff was 16-26 in four-years with the Eagles, two playoff teams, but 0-10 in 2015.

As I try and do throughout and after the high school football season, I've updated each program's historical section, including win-loss record, decade record, playoff appearances and individual records.
While it's next to impossible to have everything, it's not from the lack of trying. And, as I've always said, the records section is a constant, "Work In Progress," so if you see something that's incorrect or something that should be added, EMAIL me at [email protected] or [email protected].

Terry Ward leaving Tenaha for Harleton...

Terry Ward sent me a message earlier on Wednesday saying he's accepted the job as AD/Head Football Coach at Harleton High School.
Ward had a spectacular 66-15 record (2009-2014) as AD/Head Football Coach at Tenaha, including the 2011 State Championship Team.
Ward will replace Jackie Lloyd who announced his retirement.

Jonathan Jones named Head Football Coach at West Sabine...

Jonathan Jones, who has been on the West Sabine football staff for seven years is now the head football coach for the Tigers. He replaces Tod Stark, who left to become the AD/Head Football Coach at Hardin High School. Stark was 55-32 at West Sabine.
Jones has also been the head track and field coach at West Sabine for the last five years, and defensive coordinator the last four years. He told David Smoak, "I look forward to this opportunity and I believe we'll be a really good football team this season and now it's time to get to work."
Principal Ryan Fuller has taken over as Athletic Director, but will continue his duties at Principal.

Jackie Lloyd to retire as AD/Football Coach at Harleton...

I received an email from Harleton ISD superintendent Craig Coleman on the pending retirement of Jackie Lloyd as the AD/Head Football Coach. Lloyd was 22-10 in 3-years as AD/Head Football Coach at Harleton. He was a long-time assistant coach at Marshall High School (15-years) before becoming the offensive coordinator for ten years under Dennis Alexander at Harleton.
Harleton will begin taking applications immediately.
