TYLER, Texas - Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has been selected as The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week for the seventh week of the college football season.

Tyler Announces the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week

TYLER, Texas – Southern Methodist University senior wide receiver Jeremy Johnson has been selected as The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week for the sixth week of the college football season.

The American Athletic Conference receiver set an SMU record with 217 receiving yards on 18 catches and three touchdowns in a triple overtime loss to Rutgers 55-52. Johnson broke a 45 year old school record for receiving yards.

Johnson is a graduate of John Tyler High School, Tyler, Texas.

Wilson resigns in Riesel...

Ronnie Wilson has resigned as the AD/Head Football Coach at Riesel High School, according to our own Zach Burke.

Wilson, who is 27-31 at Riesel, including 0-4 this season, told Burke, "I need to step away from this role to deal with family matters," Wilson continued, "I will finish out the year teaching at the school, and offensive coordinator Luther Kirkpatrick will take over as the new head football coach, effective immediately."

Steve English will take over as the Athletic Director.

Wilson has also been a head coach at Collinsville and Blooming Grove.

Pine Tree I.S.D. reinstates Fitzhenry

As Smoaky.com reported at 9:00am on Tuesday morning, Pine Tree superintendent Dr. T.J. Farler has reinstated AD/Head Football Coach Derek Fitzhenry, who told David Smoak, "I am happy that this has been resolved and I can get back to coaching my kids. I want to thank everyone including my kids, coaches and my wife who have supported me during this difficult time. I love these kids and the Pine tree community and I'm excited about getting back to work. I have nothing else to say at THIS TIME. I need to focus on doing my job and taking care of the kids and helping them achieve their dreams and goals."
