Steve Wells offered and accepts job at Liberty-Eylau...

Steve Wells was offered and accepted the job as athletic director and head football coach at Liberty-Eylau High School.

Wells, who has an overall record of 44-45 as a head coach (Hooks 24-21), (Mineola 9-12), (Jacksonville 21-22), has been the co-offensive coordinator at Liberty-Eylau.

If approved, Wells will replace Brian Brown who is now at Red Oak High School.

The school board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 20th.
Eric Blenden leaving Frost for Valley Mills...

Eric Blenden is leaving Frost to become AD/Head Football Coach at Valley Mills, he was 18-8 in 2-yrs at Frost, including 12-2 in 2012.

Blenden told David Smoak, "I'm thankful for my time and the memories our program created at Frost, but looking forward to building new traditions at Valley Mills, with Eagle Pride."

Blenden replaces Dusty Robinson.

White Oak to recommend Kris Iske

White Oak defensive coordinator Kris Iske confirmed to Smoaky.com that he will be recommended on Friday at 5:00pm, to be the new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at White Oak High School.

Iske has a career record of 29-32, with stops at Grapeland (13-8) and Scurry-Rosser (16-24). And, he was on the staff with Chad Morris when Elysian Fields played in back-to-back state championship games in 1998 and 1999, and he was also on Morris' state when Bay City played in back-to-back Class 4-A state championship games, winning in 2000.

Iske is pumped up about the opportunity, "I am excited to take over the athletic program at White Oak and carry on the success that has been established in all sports," Iske continued, "I've always admired and thought of White Oak as a great school and community, and it's an honor to be a part of it."

Belton to recommend Bob Shipley as AD/FB Coach

Belton I.S.D. interviewed 6 candidates this week, and sources telling me Bob Shipley will be recommended as their next AD/Head Football Coach on Monday.

Shipley has been on the University of Texas staff since the spring of 2013.

He has been a head coach at Brownwood (39-14), Coppell (15-7), Burnet (54-19), Rotan (18-6), and was also an assistant coach at Graham HS, Temple HS, and his Alma Mater, Abilene Christian.

If approved, Shipley will replace Rodney Southern, who is now the head football coach at Huntsville High School.

Lake Travis O.C. offered Pine Tree Job

Pine Tree I.S.D. officials offered their AD/Head Football Coaching position to Lake Travis Cavaliers offensive coordinator David Collins after a meeting on Monday afternoon.

Terms of a contract have been finalized, based on school board approval.

Collins, 36, has been the offensive coordinator at Lake Travis for the last three years. He's also been an offensive coordinator at Mabank and Garland, and an assistant coach for one year at Allen High in 2003.
