Johnny Tusa new AD at Waco I.S.D.
Thursday, 6th June 2013 - 8:02PM
Former longtime Waco High School football coach Johnny Tusa was named on Monday as the Interim athletic director at Waco I.S.D.
Tusa, who was the head football coach at Waco High from 1986-2008, replaces Johanna Denson who accepted a similar position at Pflugerville I.S.D.
Tusa has been in coaching for 38-years, but, retired following the 2008 school year to work with Grant Teaff at the American Football Coaches Association.
Tusa told the crowd on Monday, "Having both Marty Herbst (Waco High) and Keith Willis (University High) already set on staff made this decision so much easier."
The "Interim" tag appears to be a formality, and should be removed in December of this year.

Hensley Resigns in Marlin
Friday, 31st May 2013 - 3:59PM
When Tim Hensley took the job as AD/Head Football Coach at Marlin High School a year ago, he told each of his four new assistant coaches, "they would have to be all-in in Marlin, Texas," and a year later, the entire staff has left, including Hensley.
Hensley told David Smoak, "I resigned earlier this month, I just knew it was time, I looked around and my entire staff was gone and they were secure with other opportunities and I was the last man standing and I had to make a decision that was best for my family." Hensley continued, "that's just some of what led me to this decision to resign."
