Tragic News on former North Lamar RB

North Lamar head football coach Tommy Felty just confirmed the passing of former star running back Dakota Boles, who was critically injured during a four-wheeler accident in North Texas, before being airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

He passed away on Monday.

Coach Felty mentioned funeral arrangements are pending, but, there is a good chance the funeral will be held on Monday afternoon the North Lamar High School gymnasium.

Boles owned two of the top rushing yards a game records at North Lamar with 346 against Atlanta in 2010, and 324-yards against Pleasant Grove in 2009. He also rushed for 1,599-yards and 25-TD's in 2010.

Cannon Named Rivals Underclassmen MVP

Mount Pleasant's K.D. Cannon was named the Most Valuable Player of the inaugural Rivals Underclassmen Challenge held over the weekend at DeSoto High School in Dallas.

The Challenge featured nearly 200 of the top class of 2014 and 2015 prospects along with some select prospects from the Class of 2016.

The event included positional drills, one-on-one competitions, an offensive and defensive challenge, but it was Cannon, playing wide receiver who stood at at the weekend's Most Valuable Player.
