Prime Prep ineligible for 11-3A Varsity Football
Sunday, 19th August 2012 - 7:44PM
Sources have confirmed that Deion Sanders' Prime Prep will NOT play varsity football games this season in District 11-3A.
Prime Prep has numerous transfers from other school districts that wouldn't be eligible to play this season since some of the paperwork alludes to transferring for "athletic reasons."
And, sources also told Smoaky.com Prime Prep would not be able to field some varsity sports and leave a void in the schedule(s) with schools from District 11-3A.
One of Prime Prep's non-district games, September 28th against Pittsburg is also in jeopardy. Pirates head coach Robert Manley told David Smoak, "That district ruling was on my radar and now I need to scramble to figure out if that game is out and if yes, quickly find another non-district opponent."
District 11-3A includes Ferris, Dallas Madison, Dallas Roosevelt, and Wilmer-Hutchins.

Dear Coach...

Dear Coach,
I've been fortunate enough to have played the game of football in this state, and yes, before you smirk, many years ago (late-70's) at Universal City Randolph.
As a military brat, I played for three high schools in four years with my senior year being in north San Antonio at Randolph High.
I loved the "Ro-Hawks" tradition and history. The program had one coach for nearly three decades, Bob Mickler, Sr.

I remember when, by Doug Reeder
Sunday, 19th August 2012 - 7:44PM
It’s an annual rite of passage and something that ties us “old-timers” in some small way to today’s current crop of players. It’s something that every high school football player, current and past, has had to endure at one time or another. Two-a-days got underway all across the state on Monday morning. Some area schools even held their own version of “Midnight Madness” in order to get a few hours head start.
