Coach of the Year

Dickey Meeks, Henderson

This was one of the most difficult decisions to make with both Barry Bowman of Daingerfield and Scott Surratt of Carthage finishing off the rare three-peats. However, Dickey Meeks led Henderson to their first-ever state championship in his fourth-year with the Lions. Meeks and Henderson were 11-29 in the previous four seasons, but everything changed in 2010 with the Class 3-A, Division I State Championship win against Meeks former program, Chapel Hill.

Game of the Year

Jacksonville 84 Nacogdoches 81 (12-Overtimes)

Jacksonville kicker Rodrigo Carreon ended the madness with a 19-yard field goal at 12:54am, 5 hours after kickoff. The win clinched a playoff berth for Jacksonville, and eliminated the playoff hopes for Nacogdoches.

The 12-Overtime game set a national record.

Play of the Year

Daingerfield QB Tyler Boyd hit Keyarris Garrett for a 69-yard touchdown with 26-seconds left in the game to lift the Tigers to a 33-27 victory over Cameron Yoe. The win gave Daingerfield the Class 2-A Division I State Championship, and their third-consecutive state title.

Most Valuable Player

Tyler Boyd, QB, Daingerfield

Boyd led the Tigers to a 44-3 record as a starter and three-consecutive state championships. Boyds last play was spectacular, throwing a 69-yard TD pass to Keyarris Garrett to win another state championship. Boyd completed 157-257 passes for 2,846-yards and 45-TDs and threw only 4-Interceptions. He also rushed for 1,095-yards and 18-TDs.
