Tuesday, 24th July 2012 - 4:29PM
Dennis Alexander, one of the all-time winningest coaches in Texas High School Football history will be the next AD/Football Coach at Troup High School effective at 5:00pm on Monday. Alexander confirmed the news to David Smoak.

Alexander has been the AD/Football Coach at Harleton since 2002, and replaces Chuck Griffin who resigned earlier this month to take a job in Alabama.

Troup I.S.D. superintendent Dr. Marvin Beatty told Smoak, "I don't know about any of the speculation, but, I do know one thing, we've interviewed some candidates, but we haven't completed the 10-day window that ends on Monday."

Again, Monday is when Smoak was told Alexander's hiring would be official.

Alexander has an overall record of 323-126-11 and won two state championships at Daingerfield in 1983 and 1985. He's also been a head coach at (Daingerfield), Hughes Springs, and Henderson.
