Here's the statement from Henderson I.S.D. on the recommendation of Phil Castles.

Henderson ISD administration is pleased to name Phil Castles as the finalist for the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach position.

Castles is a Kilgore native and has 22 years of coaching experience including being the athletic director and head football coach at Elysian Fields and Chapel Hill.

He is currently the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Corsicana High School. In his four years at Corsicana, Castles has a record of 30-19 and has led the Tigers to four playoff appearances and a state semi-final appearance in 2011.

HISD Superintendent Keith Boles will recommend Castles to the Board of Trustees at a noon meeting on Monday, February 25.
