Monday, 2nd June 2014 - 8:59AM
Mike Waldie is the new AD/Football Coach at Woodville High School after being approved on Wednesday by the Woodville ISD school board.

Waldie has most recently been the defensive coordinator at Jacksonville, and has also served as a defensive coordinator at Mount Pleasant, Livingston, Cleveland and Nacogdoches.

This will be his second head coaching opportunity, he was once the AD/Football Coach at Luling High School.

Waldie takes over from Steve Fentress who is leaving for Center High School to coach on Kevin Goodwin's staff.

Prior to his time in Texas high school football, Waldie was an defensive coordinator and assistant coach at Bethany College in Kansas, Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and Kansas Wesleyan, Salina, Kansas.

Waldie told me, "It's an honor and such a privilege to get this opportunity, especially coaching in a great state like Texas, great state for all athletics, including the great tradition in football." Waldie continued,

Waldie also told me he will officially start on Monday, June 9th, but will be in Woodville a little bit next week.

He and his wife are expecting their fourth child in August, "It will be our third son, and we also have one daughter, it's been a great time to be a part of the Waldie family."
