Marty Moore Returns To Hawkins
Sunday, 13th May 2012 - 11:51PM
Marty Moore just called me and he has officially signed a contract to become the AD/Head Football Coach at his Alma Mater, Hawkins High School.
Moore, who spent 10-years as the head coach at Union Grove, told Smoaky.com, "I'm going back home, and I think this is a good opportunity and a good fit for both of us. You know, some people say you should never go back home to coach, but I'm excited, I've had family in Hawkins since the 1950's, I know a lot of people in Hawkins and I think it's going to be a good thing."
Moore graduated from Hawkins High School in 1986, and before becoming the head coach at Union Grove he was the offensive coordinator at Chapel Hill.
Moore was 37-63 in 10-years at Union Grove.
Moore was a starting quarterback at Trinity Valley C.C. (then known as Henderson County Community College) in Athens.
